\nTalk Smack with other NHL Hockey Fans In Our Forums –><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\nThe series has taken a funny road to get there, with Dwayne Roloson and the Bruins\u2019 (non-existent) power play taking us on a rollercoaster ride, but three wins for Tampa and three wins for Boston was about what we expected, right? Yes. I predicted a seven-game war. This was a dead-even matchup on paper all the way.<\/p>\n
Instead of closing the book on the series in Game 6, the Lightning and Bruins left us with more questions to answer heading into Game 7.<\/p>\n
Tampa triumphed \u2013 but not because of Roloson. He was hardly instrumental in Tampa\u2019s win, allowing four goals on just 20 shots. The 41-year-old goaltender improved to 7-0 in elimination games but he hardly looked like a guy the Bolts can depend upon to be a rock in Game 7.<\/p>\n
Still, we can\u2019t ignore that the Bruins showed some alarming trends of their own while letting Tampa off the mat. They went 1 for 5 on the power play in Game 6 and that goal raised their playoff percentage to 8.2. Just pitiful. They also struggled to get shots on Tampa\u2019s net yet again, managing just 20 in total. ![\"\"](\"http:\/\/banners.bmaker.ag\/images\/CSPORTS_250_250_0.gif?cmpid=14237_3724\")
<\/a><\/p>\nThe pick:<\/strong><\/p>\nYou can make a strong case for either team in Game 7. The Lightning have relished the underdog status throughout the playoffs, their power play is cooking nicely and they\u2019re generally getting far more scoring chances than Boston is right now.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the Bruins have grown quite comfortable in their own building as the playoffs have progressed. They\u2019ve won five of their last six games at the TD Garden. Tampa took Game 1 there but has lost twice there since and has still lost 24 of its last 28 trips to Boston including the regular season.<\/p>\n
I also can\u2019t get past the Roloson factor. He didn\u2019t show in Game 6 that being benched in Game 5 \u201cfixed\u201d him. He looked just as lethargic. If Boston can get four goals on 20 shots, what can they get if they ride the home momentum to, say, a very \u2013attainable 30 shots?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s no easy choice but I think Boston can win despite its power-play woes on the strength of home ice and superior goaltending.<\/p>\n
