Maybe the New York Islanders\u2019 promising second half in 2010-11 changed goaltender Evgeni Nabokov\u2019s mind about playing for them. After they claimed him in January, he refused to report and they suspended him.<\/p>\n

However, the Isles\u2019 still have Nabokov\u2019s rights for next season. Reportedly, he plans to attend their training camp.<\/p>\n

The Boston Bruins\u2019 second-leading point getter and top faceoff man may return for Game 3 against Tampa Bay tonight after missing the first two games of the Eastern Conference final. Patrice Bergeron is reportedly recovered enough from his mild concussion, suffered on a Claude Giroux hit in round two, that he hopes to play. He\u2019ll decide after the morning skate.<\/p>\n

MLB news: Matt Holliday, Lance Berkman injured<\/strong><\/p>\n

The St. Louis Cardinals just can\u2019t avoid the parade of injuries these days. Colby Rasmus and David Freese are already battling injuries; Albert Pujols may have lost two more of his lineup protectors last night when both Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman left the game against the Houston Astros.<\/p>\n

Holliday departed in the second inning after straining his quad; Berkman left in the fifth with a wrist injury. It\u2019s not yet known how much time the two sluggers will miss. <\/strong><\/p>\n

NFL news: Kevin Kolb-to-Arizona trade \u201ca slam dunk\u201d; Chad Ochocinco to Patriots? <\/strong><\/p>\n

According to a report by ESPN, a Kevin Kolb trade from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Arizona Cardinals is \u201ca slam dunk as much as you can have a slam dunk.\u201d It isn\u2019t yet clear what the Eagles\u2019 compensation will be. They reportedly want the value of a 2012 first-round pick plus a starter on defense.<\/p>\n

With the Cincinnati Bengals all but ready to cut Chad Ochocinco \u2013 they drafted A.J. Green and No. 85 has publicly slammed coach Marvin Lewis \u2013 speculation has begun on the wideout\u2019s next destination. Multiple NFL insiders have predicted that Ochocinco will end up becoming the latest reclamation project for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

NBA news: Abdul-Jabbar upset over lack of statue<\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s crying over spilled milk and then there\u2019s crying because a statue of your likeness hasn\u2019t been erected yet. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA\u2019s all-time leading scorer, is upset that the Los Angeles Lakers haven\u2019t erected a statue of him outside Staples Center. The venue already has statues of Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Chick Hearn, Oscar De La Hoya and Wayne Gretzky.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the Lakers said yesterday that an Abdul-Jabbar statue would be the next one erected but that there was no timeframe for it happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cA caveat for all my fans \u2013 don\u2019t hold your breath,\u201d Abdul-Jabbar tweeted yesterday. \u201cLakers don\u2019t care about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

UFC news: Brock Lesnar\u2019s illness returns; out until 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

UFC fans hoping to see a heavyweight championship rematch of Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez will have to wait a long time for it now. Lesnar was scheduled to fight his fellow coach on the Ultimate Fighter <\/em>reality series, Junior Dos Santos, on June 11, with the winner earning the shot against Velasquez. But Lesnar\u2019s serious stomach disorder, diverticulitis, has returned. He\u2019s out indefinitely.<\/p>\n

Lesnar will be replaced against Dos Santos by Shane Carwin in June 11. The winner will still earn No. 1 contender status.<\/p>\n
