Philadelphia Phillies (22-11 through May 8)<\/strong>
\nRoy Halladay (5-1, 2.19)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s business as usual for Roy Halladay as the Phillies prepare for a big National League East clash with the team closest behind them: the Florida Marlins.<\/p>\n

A 5-1 record, 2.19 ERA and 57:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 53.1 innings seem downright epic but, for Halladay, it\u2019s to be expected. He\u2019s baseball\u2019s best pitcher and he has dominated his competition in all but one start so far this season.<\/p>\n

Last season, he stomped the Marlins, going 4-1 over five starts with a 1.66 ERA and a perfect game. The Phillies aren\u2019t hitting homers at their usual prolific rate and Carlos Ruiz and Chase Utley are on the DL but Halladay never needs much run support anyway.<\/p>\n

Florida Marlins (20-13 through May 8)<\/strong>
\nJosh Johnson (3-1, 1.68)<\/p>\n

Poor Josh Johnson has to feel overshadowed by Halladay. He\u2019s one of baseball\u2019s very best pitchers but he always seems to match up against Doc when the Marlins meet the Phillies. The guy allowed one run \u2013 zero earned \u2013 over 15 innings against the Phillies last year yet compiled a 1-1 record. He pitched against Halladay on the perfect-game night and lost 1-0. \"Bet<\/a><\/p>\n

Johnson will need all the offensive help he can get to solve Doc on Tuesday night. Gaby Sanchez could be up to the task; the super sophomore is batting .328 with a .926 OPS this season. But will the real Hanley Ramirez please stand up? The supposed superstar is batting just .195 with one homer in 31 games.<\/p>\n

We have to bet the UNDER when these two pitchers meet; that\u2019s for certain. As for the pick, I\u2019ll lean Philadelphia\u2019s way. The Marlins need Logan Morrison back from the DL and Hanley Ramirez back from the dead if they want to score on Halladay. It\u2019s a coin flip but I don\u2019t think I can ever bet against the Phillies when Doc pitches.<\/p>\n
