The Wings begin their quest toward Lord Stanley\u2019s Cup on Wednesday night against a Phoenix Coyotes club that gained 99 points this season \u2013 99! Don\u2019t ask me how but they did it.<\/p>\n<p>The Wings have battled injuries all season and the present is no different. Henrik Zetterberg will miss Game 1 and by all accounts could be out longer than that. His absence is huge \u2013 Zetterberg was Detroit\u2019s leading scorer this season. Detroit finished the season 4-4-2 which doesn\u2019t exactly breed an air of optimism!<\/p>\n<p>Drew Miller, Dan Cleary and Todd Bertuzzi all have two points in their last two games \u2013 Mike Modano is pointless in four games and Valtteri Filppula and Juri Hudler have one point in their last five. Everyone on this team competes hard each and every night. They are not going to roll over for the mighty Wings \u2013 guaranteed!<\/p>\n<p>Offensively, no one Coyotes line scares the Wings. The only have one \u2013 20 goal scorer. But what the Coyotes do have is balance \u2013 10 Coyotes scored in double digits this season! Shane Doan is the leader and has picked up his game down the stretch while the others have followed.<\/p>\n<p>Ilya Bryzgalov will have to be the difference in this game. He was 8-3-2 with a 1.89 goals against average in his last 13 games and is 2-0-2 against Detroit this season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NHL Betting Trends:<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder is 8-2-1 in PHO last 11 overall.<br \/>\nPHO are 22-8 in their last 30 Wed. games.<br \/>\nDET are 115-43-11 in their last 169 Wed. games.<br \/>\nDET are 304-133-16 in their last 453 home games.<br \/>\nPHO are 12-30-6 in the last 48 meetings.<br \/>\nOver is 7-3-4 in the last 14 meetings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Betting Prediction:<\/strong> The Phoenix Coyotes were a better road team than a home team this season while the Red Wings have been miserable on home ice in the second half of the season \u2013 under .500 in their last 26!<\/p>\n<p>I love Phoenix in this game \u2013 the Wings have been absolutely brutal on home ice lately and without Zetterberg, the team simply isn\u2019t the same.
