It\u2019s baseball season! Now that we\u2019ve looked at team futures, let\u2019s check out the odds for individual awards. Will anyone unseat the likes of Hamilton, Votto, Halladay and Hernandez?<\/p>\n

AMERICAN LEAGUE MVP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Top Five: <\/strong>Miguel Cabrera (+550), Adrian Gonzalez (+600), Josh Hamilton (+1000), Joe Mauer (+10000) Alex Rodriguez (+1000)
\nSleeper: <\/strong>Nelson Cruz (+3500)
\nBust: <\/strong>Joe Mauer (+1000)<\/p>\n

The Adrian Gonzalez hype train is already out of control even though he hasn\u2019t played a game with the Boston Red Sox yet. Still \u2013 I\u2019m driving that train. A-Gonz is leaving a brutal lineup in San Diego and the game\u2019s toughest park on hitters, PETCO Park, to join a stacked lineup in a park that favors hitters. Add up his road numbers the last two seasons and you get 48 homers and 122 RBI over 161 games. That sounds like an MVP season to me.<\/p>\n

Pick: <\/strong>Adrian Gonzalez +600<\/p>\n

NATIONAL LEAGUE MVP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Top Five: <\/strong>Albert Pujols (+300), Joey Votto (+550), Ryan Braun (+800), Troy Tulowitzki (+800), Prince Fielder (+1200)
\nSleeper: <\/strong>Buster Posey (+3500)
\nBust: <\/strong>Carlos Gonzalez (+1200)<\/p>\n

Super sophomores like Buster Posey and Jason Heyward are intriguing plays. Troy Tulowitzki is as good as anyone when he\u2019s healthy. Prince Fielder will be motivated in a contract year. But there\u2019s nothing scarier than Mr. Albert Pujols in his contract year. I\u2019expect huge things and another MVP award for his shelf.<\/p>\n

AMERICAN LEAGUE CY YOUNG<\/strong><\/p>\n

Top Five: <\/strong>Felix Hernandez (+350), C.C. Sabathia (+550), Jon Lester (+600), David Price (+700), Justin Verlander (+1000)
\nSleeper: <\/strong>Francisco Liriano (+1800)
\nBust: <\/strong>Clay Buchholz (+1200)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty much a given that Felix Hernandez, C.C. Sabathia and Justin Verlander will contend for the Cy Young as always. Those aces are among the game\u2019s most reliable stars. Price has elite talent and certainly belongs in the elite tier after his breakout in 2010. But, to me, it\u2019s Jon Lester\u2019s time. He\u2019s been quietly dynamite over the last two seasons, averaging 17 wins and 225 strikeouts, and he\u2019ll finally get recognized this season. \"Sports<\/p>\n

NATIONAL LEAGUE CY YOUNG<\/strong><\/p>\n

Top Five: <\/strong>Roy Halladay (+400), Tim Lincecum (+400), Josh Johnson (+700), Cliff Lee (+700), Ubaldo Jimenez (+1000)
\nSleeper: <\/strong>Tommy Hanson (+2000)
\nBust: <\/strong>Mat Latos (+2000)<\/p>\n

If I listed the top 10 candidates, four of the Phillies\u2019 top five starters would make the cut. It\u2019s enough to make you wonder if the Philly guys will split the votes next fall and open the door for Tim Lincecum to reclaim his crown. However, I still think Roy Halladay will prevail yet again. He\u2019s in his prime and there is simply no one who prepares \u2013 or pitches \u2013 better than Doc on Planet Earth right now.<\/p>\n
