The pressure is off the Heat.<\/p>\n

Finally.<\/p>\n

The team we love to hate can breathe a little easier and start playing the type of games they like \u2013 against teams going nowhere and with D-League talent. The remaining 11 games of the regular season includes walkovers against the likes of Milwaukee, Washington, Cleveland, New Jersey and Toronto. There is a home game against Boston later on, and perhaps tonight\u2019s game at home against Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Miami is pretty much locked into the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, its status behind Chicago and Boston the result of consistently coming up short in games against talented teams. The Heat can bully weaker kids on the schoolyard, but when the big boys are in town, they\u2019ve turtled. And there\u2019s nothing they do about it until at least the second round of the playoffs, when they\u2019ll probably be facing the Celtics or Bulls, with any Game 7 being on the road. \"Online<\/p>\n

In the meantime, LeBron and Dwyane will expend only as much energy as needed. In Detroit on Wednesday, Miami coasted through three periods and turned the temperature up only in the fourth period, outscoring the Pistons 27-13 in the final 12 minutes and hanging on for a 6-point win. Expect that a lot down the stretch.<\/p>\n

NBA Trends:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over is 11-4 in PHI last 15 road games.
\nMIA are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
\nMIA are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
\nUnder is 11-4-1 in the last 16 meetings.
\nHome team is 16-7 ATS in the last 23 meetings.<\/p>\n

BEST BET<\/strong>: Why is there even voting for the coach of the year award this season? Just dispense with it and give it to Doug Collins, whose 76ers are probably going to finish over .500 after losing 55 games last season. With the possible exception of Rick Adelman in Houston, no coach has gotten more out of his players than Collins has this season. <\/p>\n

The Sixers play 7 of the final 10 at home, and the schedule doesn\u2019t appear too daunting. So a 6 seed in the East is easily doable, and tonight\u2019s game may be a playoff preview. <\/p>\n

The line looks heavy, Miami is an unreliable cover and the 76ers are 43-27-1 against the number this season. <\/p>\n
