All in all it\u2019s been a positive season for the New Orleans Hornets.<\/p>\n

Out of nowhere they started the year 8-0 and 11-1, and despite a few burps along the way they\u2019re on course to make the playoffs in the Western Conference and could be seeded as high as fifth. Every starter has been pretty healthy and played more than 60 games. At 16-20 the NOH have actually been one of the better road teams in the conference.<\/p>\n

Yet while the Hornets have never been a bad franchise, they never quite succeed in pushing the rock all the way to the top of the hill before it rolls at least part of the way down. Regardless of how high a seed the Hornets wind up with, fans in Louisiana know that it all could be blown up this summer. Chris Paul has made noise that he wants to pull a Carmelo Anthony and bolt, and David West is a free agent. Without those two the Hornets quickly become the Clippers, Kings or Cavaliers. \"Online<\/p>\n

As to the present, New Orleans will be trying to gain some traction in the final 11 games and use it as a springboard to make things difficult for a round or two in the playoffs. Tonight\u2019s game starts a 3-game road swing (also at Phoenix and at LA Lakers), and the other eight opponents are all decent. It won\u2019t be easy for the Hornets. But then again, nothing ever seems to be.<\/p>\n

NBA Trends:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under is 27-9 in NO last 36 vs. NBA Northwest.
\nNO are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
\nUnder is 41-19 in NO last 60 overall.
\nUTA are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games.
\nNO are 1-7-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Utah.
\nNO are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings.<\/p>\n

BEST BET:<\/em><\/strong> Utah will probably finish under .500 this season as it tries to keep things from falling apart completely in the aftermath of the Deron Williams trade. The Jazz had gone over 100 points in five straight games, but have been held to 85 and 94 in their last two as they seem to have forgotten how to rebound. <\/p>\n

The Hornets -3 or a money line play should get a long look here, with an accompanying play on the over as a motivated and rested (four days rest) NO figures to deal Utah its fourth straight loss.<\/p>\n
