Butler Bulldogs vs. Wisconsin Badgers Preview <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bulldogs (25-9) made it to the Big Dance finals last season and they are a surprise Sweet 16 squad this season that will have to deal with a great Wisconsin (25-8) defense to advance to the Elite 8. NCAAB lines have Wisconsin as 5-point favorites with a low total of 124.<\/p>\n

To advance to the Sweet 16 Butler scored a huge upset taking out the region\u2019s top-seed in Pittsburgh 71-70 and Wisconsin beat Kansas State 70-65.<\/p>\n

This season these teams have been almost even in terms of betting with Wisconsin at 17-12 ATS and Butler at 17-13-2 ATS.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin has a defense that ranks 5th in the nation in opponents\u2019 points allowed and in their last 3 games they have given up 5 fewer points than their season average. That is not good for a Butler team that only ranks 192nd in the nation in scoring. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Butler is a little lucky to be in the Sweet 16 needing a dumb foul from Pitt player to ice the win. However, Butler was solid in the game shooting 46% from the floor. Still, Pitt had 10 more rebounds in the game and the Panthers shot 56.5% from the field.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin and their solid D really only has to worry about 2 guys in G Shelvin Mack and F Matt Howard, who combined for 46 points in the win over Pitt. Mack was the high scorer with 30 points and he hit 7 of 12 of his 3-pointers. Mack and Howard can both drain the 3 and they will have to do so in this game to pull off the upset.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin did not have the best shooting game in the win over Kansas State shooting 42% from the field, but they had 4 starters score in double figures led by Jon Leuer with 19 points. G Jordan Taylor led the Badgers in scoring this season, but he only scored 12 points on 2\/16 shooting in the KSU game and he must play better against a confident Butler team.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin will have to play good D and hit their open shots, as they only rank 299th in the nation in rebounds per game.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs will not make it back to the finals and they will not even make it to the Elite 8. Wisconsin will play good D and Taylor will bounce back and have a good game. The Badgers will win this game and cover the 5-point spread.<\/p>\n
