Almost everyone expected Kansas to be in this game, but very few people expected to see Richmond as their opponent in this Sweet Sixteen matchup. Richmond upset Vanderbilt in the second round and took care of Morehead State on Saturday afternoon. Kansas had a lackluster performance in their win over Boston. <\/p>\n

The Jayhawks led Illinois by just five points in the last few minutes of the game on Sunday, but Kansas went on a big run to finish off the Fighting Illini. Can the Cinderella school move on, or will it be Rock Chalk Jayhawk?<\/p>\n

The Richmond Spiders have a great leader at the point guard position. Kevin Anderson is a senior and he does a great job of both distributing the ball and scoring as well. Justin Harper has emerged as a star for this team in 2011. Harper is a 6\u201910 forward who shoots 45% from beyond the arc. <\/p>\n

The Spiders actually have four players who shoot 41% or better from three-point range. Richmond also plays solid defense and takes good care of the basketball. This is a team that has some quality wins over teams like Temple, Purdue, and Vanderbilt this year. <\/p>\n

If this team has a weakness it is on the glass. Richmond is not a good offensive rebounding team, and they are only fair on the defensive glass.<\/p>\n

Kansas is one of the favorites in this year\u2019s tournament because of their offensive efficiency and their strength down low. The Morris twins are the key to this team. Marcus Morris averages 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Markieff Morris averages 13.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. <\/p>\n

The most amazing number is that Marcus shoots 58.2% from the floor and Markieff shoots 60.5%. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These two obviously take high quality shots and score with great efficiency. What about the rest of the team?<\/p>\n

Kansas has several good outside shooters in the form of Tyrel Reed, Tyshawn Taylor, and Brady Morningstar. These guys make it tough for opponents to double the Morris twins down low. <\/p>\n

Bill Self\u2019s team plays very good man defense, and they allow opponents to shoot just 29.6% from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

Kansas needs to take advantage of their big edge down low in this game.<\/p>\n
