Akron finished in third-place in the Mid American standings, but a thrilling 66-65 OT win over Kent State as a 1 \u00bd-point underdog in the conference championship punched its ticket to the big dance. The Zips bring an overall record of 23-12 straight-up into this tournament and were 18-13-1 against the spread.<\/p>\n

This team has some decent scoring depth with eight players averaging at least five points a game led by Nikola Cvetinovic\u2019s 11.9 points. He also leads the team in rebounds with seven a game and is shooting 45.3 percent from the floor.
