The Morehead State Eagles, out of the Ohio Valley Conference step up in weight class when they face the Big East Louisville Cardinals in the second round of this year\u2019s NCAA Men\u2019s Tournament. This Southwest Region game is scheduled to tip at 1:40 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on TBS.<\/p>\n

Morehead State earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with an 80-73 victory over Tennessee Tech as a nine-point favorite in its conference tournament championship. The Eagles finished the year with an overall record of 24-9 straight-up and went 17-11 against the spread. They finished second to Murray State in the regular season with a conference record of 13-5 SU.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Faried and Demonte Harper have accounted for 48 percent of the Eagles\u2019 scoring this season with a combined 33.6 points a game. Faried is pulling down an average of 14.5 rebounds a game and Harper has a team-high 3.4 assists a game. Morehead State is scoring 70 points a game and averaging 37 rebounds. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Louisville\u2019s dreams of winning the Big East Tournament ended with a hard-fought 69-66 loss to Connecticut as a three-point favorite in the championship game. The Cardinals come into this tournament at 25-9 SU overall (19-11-1 ATS) and 12-6 SU in conference play.<\/p>\n

Preston Knowles leads the team in scoring with an average of 14.8 points a game. Peyton Siva has a team-high 5.3 assists and Terrence Jennings is averaging 5.2 rebounds a game. Louisville is shooting 45.2 percent from the field and scoring 75 points a game. Despite losing forward Rakeem Buckles for the season with a knee injury, the Cardinals are still averaging 37 rebounds a game.<\/p>\n

Louisville has aspirations of making a deep run in this tournament as a fourth seed and it has the depth and talent to do it. Veteran coach Rick Pitino will make sure his team does not look past this game as the Cardinals come away with a convincing win that covers the 9 \u00bd points.<\/p>\n
