We\u2019ve all been waiting for Michigan State to put together a full game where they show their potential, and they finally did that today. The Spartans humbled the Purdue Boilermakers and cemented their spot in the NCAA Tournament field on Friday evening. <\/p>\n

Penn State beat the Wisconsin Badgers 36-33 in what was one of the uglier basketball games you\u2019ll ever see. Penn State may have a chance to dance this year if they can win this game.<\/p>\n

Michigan State edged past Iowa and probably would have been in the tournament field anyways, but the victory over Purdue was extremely important for the Spartans psyche. This team simply hasn\u2019t played with that \u201cswagger\u201d that a Tom Izzo team usually plays with. What was the major difference in their performance on Saturday? <\/p>\n

Kalin Lucas stepped up and played a tremendous game. Lucas scored 30 points and made 10 out of 11 from the charity stripe. The Spartans also got back to dominating on the glass, which has been a staple of this team in the past couple years. Michigan State got 39 rebounds to Purdue\u2019s 25. <\/p>\n

Freshman Keith Appling had 10 points and he knocked down both three-pointers he attempted. If Michigan State can take care of the ball and crash the boards, they will be a very dangerous team in the next couple weeks. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Nittany Lions of Penn State outlasted Wisconsin 36-33 Friday night. Penn State shot just 33.3% from the floor, but they held the Badgers to 29.4% from the field. The Nittany Lions turned the ball over just seven times. Here\u2019s an interesting statistic to think about. <\/p>\n

Penn State\u2019s bench didn\u2019t score a single point all game, and no one for the Nittany Lions scored more than nine points. It truly was a game that the Nittany Lions fought their way through to a victory. They must now come back and face a much bigger and stronger Michigan State team. <\/p>\n

Penn State lost by 18 in East Lansing a month ago. In order to win on Saturday, the Nittany Lions will need a big effort out of Talor Battle.<\/p>\n
