As expected Ole Miss didn’t have much trouble dispatching South Carolina in round 1. Their reward, a date with a rested Kentucky squad that is red hot and looking for revenge. In their victory over the Wildcats last month it was definitely a case of experience over talent. The veteran guard duo of Chris Warren and Zack Graham combined for 38 points. Warren was especially sharp with 22 points and just a single turnover and it was his steady play that led the Rebels to victory in what was a very tightly contested game. Another performance like that is a must if the Rebels want to continue their season into the weekend. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kentucky earned a first round bye but the way they were playing down the stretch I am sure Coach Calipari is hoping the layoff hasn’t cooled them off. In succession the Wildcats beat what I consider the three best teams other than themselves in Florida, Vandy and Tennessee. This team may be young but they are really starting to come together at just the right time. I really feel that this version of the Cats has the makeup to go even further than last year’s uber talented squad. I am looking for them to be fueled by some revenge for this one too.<\/p>\n
