It makes sense, in a way, that the Miami Heat appear to have no idea how to deal with adversity. Last summer\u2019s predictions of multiple NBA championships just did not take into account the possibility of 5-game losing streaks and the inability to make plays down the stretch of games. Didn\u2019t take into account that there are actually a few other players in the league that are pretty good, didn\u2019t take into account that opponents would like nothing better than to stick it to James, Wade and Bosh. The three amigos are like the big kids at recess who make their own team and defy any other schoolyard team to beat them.<\/p>\n

Now that things are going bad, they are now the confused schoolyard bullies turning on each other. Bosh says he\u2019s ticked that he doesn\u2019t get the ball where he wants it (on the block), Wade sulks that fans are happy when the Heat get beaten, and James keeps on keepin\u2019 on, knowing that he can veto any change in the way he plays his game. Coach Erik Spoelstra looks on powerlessly as James dribbles constantly while four teammates stand beyond the 3-point line. <\/p>\n

Defensively, the perimeter players try to help an overmatched front line, but that just leaves opposing outside shooters wide open. \"Sports<\/a><\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t help that the Heat are in the midst of an 11-game stretch against teams with winning records. There are 6 more to go, starting with tonight\u2019s game against the Lakers. A team that just cannot seem to beat decent teams somehow has to figure out a way to turn things around in a hurry, and there seem to be no answers. <\/p>\n

Fingers were also being pointed at the Lakers after a 3-game losing streak in mid-February, but LA bashers have been silenced by an 8-game winning streak they take into tonight\u2019s game. Most impressively, 5 of the 8 wins have been on the road. And despite all the talk about the Lakers getting old, they are actually on pace to win more regular-season games than they did last season.<\/p>\n

Best bets<\/strong>: A sign of how far the Heat have fallen is obvious in tonight\u2019s line. Miami gives 2, and it\u2019s the first time all season that the Heat have been home dogs. The Heat have failed to cover in any of their last 7 games, and they are 1-8 in their last 9 and 2-9 in their last 11 ATS. <\/p>\n

Never bet on a streak to end, especially against a decent Lakers team that has a big front line and will be motivated on a national stage. LA +2 and the under.<\/p>\n
