The red-hot Dallas Mavericks will try and keep the pressure on San Antonio in the West with a win over the New Orleans Hornets this Wednesday night. Tip-off from the New Orleans Arena is set for 8 p.m and the game will be available on NBA League Pass.<\/p>\n

Dallas has been able to stay right on the Spurs\u2019 heels in the West with nine victories in its last 10 games including a 108-105 win as a 6 \u00bd-point road favorite this past Monday. The Mavericks are five games behind San Antonio in both the Southwest Division and the conference with a record of 46-17 straight-up (34-27-2 against the spread).<\/p>\n

This team continues to get it done with the same old cast of characters including Dirk Nowitzki, who leads the team 23 points a game, and Jason Terry, who is second in scoring with 16.4 points and has a team-high 4.3 assists per game. Dallas is averaging 100.5 points and 41.2 rebounds a game.<\/p>\n

New Orleans continues to battle in the West, holding onto the seventh spot in the standings with an overall record of 37-29 SU (32-33-1 ATS). The Hornets have struggled as of late with four losses in their last six games. This past Monday they lost to Chicago 85-77 as a 10-point road underdog. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Chris Paul, New Orleans\u2019 second leading scorer with 15.9 points a game, remains out of the lineup with a concussion. It will be up to David West, who leads the team with 18.7 points a game and Jarrett Jack, who scored 23 points in the loss to the Bulls to pick up the slack in Paul\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n

Despite the fact the Hornets have won the last five meetings at home against the Mavericks SU, they will be hard pressed to extend the streak to six with their depleted lineup.<\/p>\n
