This is a huge game for the Lobos as they try and prove they are tournament worthy. \u00a0New Mexico is the last team to beat BYU and another win against the highly regarded Cougars should get them in and prove the Mountain West Conference is a real conference to be reckoned with in March. \u00a0New Mexico really needs this W as they have struggled of late. \u00a0<\/p>\n

They won on the weekend against alsoran TCU but before that they lost 4 in a row including an ugly loss against an abnormally weak Utah team. \u00a0A strong finish, including a win at BYU would set things up for a great MWC tournament next weekend…but it is a tall order given how well the Cougars are playing right now, especially at home.<\/p>\n

What a win for the BYU Cougars on Saturday afternoon. \u00a0With all the expectations and everyone watching they got it done on the road even though Jimmer Fredette did not have one of his better games with just 25 points. \u00a0Key to the victory were the play of forwards Noah Hartsock and Charles Abouo. \u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They were a combined 7 for 9 from three point range and anytime Fredette gets that kind of support this team will be very tough to beat, I don’t care who they are playing. \u00a0There is a great revenge factor here which will help motivate BYU to avoid a letdown after beating San Diego State. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Being at home where the haven’t lost all season will help as well.<\/p>\n
