Whoa, whoa, whoa. The San Antonio Spurs are underdogs? The NBA\u2019s top team? Against a Memphis squad battling for a bottom playoff seed in the West?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not as crazy as it looks. Tony Parker is expected to miss four weeks with a badly strained calf muscle. With him out of the lineup, everything changes for San Antonio.<\/p>\n

The Spurs have still won five of their last six games but they\u2019ve been unreliable for bettors of late, going 0-4 ATS over their last four. They beat Memphis at home on Sunday 95-88, failing to cover the 8.5-point spread. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So Memphis is favored because the Spurs are without their top ballhandler. The Grizz are also favored because they\u2019re playing great ball of late. They\u2019re 14-5 over its last 19 games. They\u2019re also 5-1 ATS over their last six. At 38-22-1 ATS, Memphis has beaten the spread more than any other NBA team this season.<\/p>\n

The strange thing about Memphis is that it\u2019s surviving despite Rudy Gay being out with a shoulder injury. The Grizzlies have gone 2-2 (and 3-1 ATS) without him; both of their losses came on the road. Zach Randolph has been a monster in Gay\u2019s absence, shouldering the load as the go-to scorer and posting three straight double-doubles. Marc Conley has also stepped up with a 22-point and 19-point effort over his last three contests.<\/p>\n

It sounds crazy but I think Memphis can do it tonight. The Spurs are still a great team but they\u2019re just not the same without Parker. Memphis is hungry for revenge and can taste a playoff berth whereas the Spurs, already at 49 wins and six games up on Dallas for first in the Southwest, are in coast mode.<\/p>\n
