The Villanova Wildcats will look to reverse a late-season skid with a victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish tonight at the Joyce Center in South Bend in this Big East clash. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.<\/p>\n

Villanova is headed in the wrong direction at the wrong time of the year. It has four losses in its last six games including an 81-68 trashing at the hands of St. John\u2019s this past Saturday as a 6 \u00bd-point home favorite. This latest loss dropped the Wildcats to 21-8 straight-up overall and 11-14-1 against the spread. They are in a five-way tie for seventh-place in the Big East standings at 9-7 SU.<\/p>\n

Corey Fisher and Cory Stokes continue to pace this team as each is averaging just over 15 points a game. Fisher has struggled from the field as of late and is now hitting just 42.5 percent of his shots. The Wildcats are averaging 74 points a game and shooting 44.1 percent from the floor. They remain a solid team under the boards with 38 rebounds a game. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Notre Dame continued its surprising run through the Big East with a 94-93 squeaker over Providence last Wednesday as a four-point road favorite and a 60-48 romp over Seton Hall as a 10-point home favorite this past Saturday. The Irish are now 23-5 SU overall (13-10 ATS) and just one game behind Pittsburgh in the Big East with a conference record of 12-4 SU.<\/p>\n

Ben Hansbrough and Tim Abromaitis are responsible for the bulk of Notre Dame\u2019s offensive production this season. Hansbrough leads the team with 18 points and four assists a game, while Abromaitis is second in scoring with 14.9 points and is averaging 6.3 rebounds a game. The Irish are shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 72.5 percent from the foul-line. They are averaging 75 points and 37 rebounds a game.<\/p>\n

Notre Dame is 2-5 SU in the last seven meetings between these two, but has the clear momentum heading into this matchup. Take the Irish to add to Villanova\u2019s misery with a convincing win at home.<\/p>\n
