There\u2019s a lot to play for this Saturday in the wide, wonderful and diverse world of college basketball. Here\u2019s the preview:<\/p>\n

The heavyweight in the Atlantic Coast Conference is about to come up against the perennial bubble team in the league.<\/p>\n

Drama and intrigue await in Blacksburg, Virginia, on a Saturday night of considerable importance. Duke is fighting for a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.<\/p>\n

Losses by four contenders for top seeds over the previous week – Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Texas and Kansas – gave Duke new life in the push to get to the top of a bracket in one of the four regions for the Big Dance. Which means the Blue Devils definitely have something to play for when they take the court in this tilt.<\/p>\n

However, playing for seeding does not compare to the urgency of playing for one’s NCAA Tournament life, and that’s what Virginia Tech will be doing. As per usual, it\u2019s late February and the Hokies are looking for a signature win to get off the bubble. \"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The ACC’s bubble teams are not taking care of business, but that means that Virginia Tech can pretty much punch its ticket to the field of 68 if it can register a high-quality win against Mike Krzyzewski’s club.<\/p>\n

Virginia Tech will play hard and with passion, but the Hokies’ problem over the past three seasons (when they’ve fallen just short of the NCAAs) is that they don’t play with much poise or wisdom under pressure.<\/p>\n

On top of that, the Hokies simply don\u2019t have as much A-list talent as the Blue Devils do and they don\u2019t have nearly as much depth.<\/p>\n

This game will be close and Virginia Tech has a great chance to win it, but until the Hokies come through in a situation like this, they deserve to be doubted. We have seen them fail several times in this spot previously so why trust them here?<\/p>\n

Take Duke because they have more pedigree in what will turn out to be a coin-flip game.<\/p>\n
