The Syracuse Orange take on the Villanova Wildcats this Monday night in a crucial Big East showdown of top 25 teams. Tip-off from the Pavilion is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.<\/p>\n

Syracuse needed overtime but was able to get by Rutgers 84-80 as a 12-point home favorite this past Saturday. The Orange find themselves 22-6 straight-up overall but just 10-16 against the spread. They are stuck in the middle of the pack in the Big East at 9-6 SU. <\/p>\n

Kris Joseph, Rick Jackson, and Scoop Jardine continue to lead the way for Syracuse. Joseph is the leading scorer with an average of 15 points a game while Jackson leads in rebounds with 11.2 and Jardine leads in assists with 5.9. The Orange are averaging 73 points a game and shooting 46.7 percent from the field. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Villanova also needed overtime on Saturday to escape with a 77-75 win over DePaul in a game it was favored to win by 11 \u00bd points on the road. The Wildcats are currently 21-6 SU overall and 11-12-1 ATS. They are 9-5 SU in the conference; three games behind Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Corey Fisher leads four players scoring in double-figures with an average of 16.3 points and is averaging a team-high five assists a game. Corey Stokes is the second leading scorer with 14.6 points and Antonio Pena is the leading rebounder with 7.4 a game. The Wildcats are averaging 74 points and 38 rebounds a game.<\/p>\n

Both teams are in desperate need of a quality win as neither has looked all that impressive in their past few outings. The Wildcats get the slight edge in this one having won four of the last five meetings SU including an 83-72 victory earlier this season as a 5 \u00bd-point road underdog.<\/p>\n
