Last year South Carolina popped Kentucky’s bubble but things are much different this season. \u00a0Gone is mighty mite guard Devan Downey, replaced by the equally spritely Bruce Ellington. <\/p>\n

Ellington is a nice player but freshman is not nearly as prolific as Downey, who owned the Cats in that win last season. \u00a0His supporting cast is less than stellar too as the Gamecocks neither score, defend or rebound with any real efficiency. \u00a0For the other SC to have a chance Ellington needs to outplay fellow frosh point Brandin Knight…for starters. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The chances of that happening and the ‘Cocks pulling off the upset are not good. \u00a0The chances of them keeping the game close aren’t great either. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The more I see this Kentucky team the more I like them. \u00a0They are probably not as talented as last year’s squad but they are more tested which I think will make them a tougher out when it matters in March. \u00a0They have lost 4 of their last 10 but those have been by a combined ten points so they are battling very hard in these games. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Love their mix of stars and role players this season, it feels more like a team than an all-star team and that bodes well. \u00a0Still this team hasn’t been making money for investors with that 9-11 ATS record. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The expectations are sky high for this bunch and even when they win they are coming up a big short of the number.<\/p>\n
