Phoenix has been un-spectacular BUT solid so far in 2011. They have put together wins in 7\/9 games to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the always-tough Western Conference. <\/p>\n

Two-time MVP Steve Nash is getting up there in age but he’s still getting it done in the desert. Along with Nash Phoenix has had to rely on an assortment of heroes since losing superstar Amar’e Stoudemire to free agency in the offseason. \"Sports<\/a><\/p>\n

The Dallas Mavericks will be looking to earn their 40th win of the season \u2013 and continue their recent dominance of the Suns. This is the final game before the league’s four-day All-Star break. The Mavs come in having won 12 of their last 13 games.<\/p>\n

Speaking of MVP’s, don\u2019t sleep on Dirk Nowitzki. When Nowitzki was sidelined with an ankle problem the Mavericks were 2-7. They are 37-9 when the big German plays. Nowitzki figures to go off tonight as the Suns have some defensive transition issues.<\/p>\n

The clubs have met 1x this year already. Dallas leads 1-0 following a 106-91 victory on Dec. 17.<\/p>\n
