The Bruins have won five straight games since conceding the conference lead to Arizona in an 85-74 loss, and will hope that success will translate when they travel for the first time this month.<\/p>\n

UCLA opens a mini two-game trip at Stanford, the team they beat 68-57 in the final contest before the loss to the Wildcats, and will look for a similar result. <\/p>\n

Malcolm Lee scored 19 points to help the Bruins past Oregon State for the 13th<\/sup> straight time, but that was five days ago and they should be well rested. On the other end of the spectrum, the Cardinal have split their past four games to remain in the middle of the pack, but with just six games left in the season the time is now to make a move. \"The<\/a><\/p>\n

They’ll need to be better at both ends of the floor, but particularly on defense after allowing a season-high 87 points in a loss to Washington.<\/p>\n

This is really a matchup of a decent PAC-10 team versus one that has proven to be elite. UCLA has won five straight and nine of their last 10 to emerge as one of the conference\u2019s best products. They are a very balanced team, averaging 71 points per game at the offensive end while allowing just 66.5 points per game on the defensive end.<\/p>\n

Stanford is sound, but not stellar. They rely on tight defense (63.1 points per game) and quality rebounding to scrape out wins. But they can be overwhelmed by star talent, which UCLA does have.<\/p>\n

Stanford will have a tough time keeping it close against a much deeper Bruins’ team, and it will only be a matter of time before UCLA pulls away on the road.<\/p>\n
