Something special is happening in Memphis. The Grizzlies have gone from also-ran to bubble team to playoff contender in a matter of weeks. They\u2019re 11-3 over their last 14 games, beating the Nuggets, Thunder, and Magic over that span, though they bullied plenty of bad teams, too. It\u2019s not that difficult to start a hot streak when the Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Raptors, Nets and Wizards pop up on the schedule. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The dynamite tandem of Zach Randolph (20.1 points per game, 13.3 rebounds per game) and Rudy Gay (20 points per game) continues to carry the Grizz. Though it looks like Memphis could have extra help in the lineup tonight with O.J. Mayor probable to return after serving his 10-game suspension. Memphis went 7-3 against the spread while he was gone. Over the year, the Grizz are one of the NBA\u2019s top bets, going 34-21-1 ATS.<\/p>\n

Memphis\u2019 34 ATS wins are tied for the NBA lead. The only other teams to beat the spread 34 times so far this season: the Spurs and the Grizzlies\u2019 opponent tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers.<\/p>\n

The 76ers are enjoying a surge up the standings and a playoff push of their own at the moment. They\u2019ve won seven of 10 on a solid run during which they\u2019ve beaten the Spurs, Hawks, Knicks and Nuggets, among others. One of the three teams to beat them over that stretch, however, was Memphis. The Grizz beat the 76ers in Philly\u2019s own building 99-94 on January 28. <\/sup><\/p>\n

The 76ers don\u2019t have one go-to guy this year. Instead, they\u2019ve gotten a hodgepodge of decent efforts night to night from Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday, Louis Williams and Thaddeus Young.<\/p>\n

Still, the Grizzlies are simply a more talented team on paper. Especially with Mayo probably rejoining the lineup tonight. If they can beat the 76ers in Philly, I think they can handle them tonight at home.<\/p>\n
