Oh, boy. Here they go again. After their second perplexing slump of the season struck in January, the Heat look poised to start another one of their dominant runs. Their current winning streak sits at seven games; they\u2019ve beaten the spread in five of their last six. That includes a 17.5-point line against Cleveland and an 11.5-point line against the Clippers.<\/p>\n

At his current pace, you have to wonder if LeBron James still has a shot to unseat Kevin Durant and win the NBA scoring title. There\u2019s no more doubt as to whether or not the team is his or Dwyane Wade\u2019s. D-Wade has taken a back seat. LeBron has a 51-point game and a 41-point game so far this month. He\u2019s averaging 30-plus points per game in the New Year. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since Wade is nursing a bruised wrist, he may see decreased minutes tonight, so the Detroit Pistons can expect to see plenty of LeBron (and Chris Bosh).<\/p>\n

The Pistons haven\u2019t exactly been pushovers of late, however. They\u2019ve won three of four and are a respectable 8-7 over their last 15 games. That\u2019s more than most Eastern Conference bottom feeders can say. Still \u2013 this is an offensively challenged team. Leading scorer Rodney Stuckey averages just above 15 points per game. We can\u2019t seriously expect Detroit to win tonight, can we?<\/p>\n

The more important question is whether or not Detroit can beat the 7.5-point spread. After all, the Pistons are a solid 30-23 ATS on the season, including 14-11 ATS at home. They were 8.5-point dogs against the Heat on January 28 and lost by only a point.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll go with my gut tonight and predict that Detroit isn\u2019t so lucky this time around. The last two elite offensive teams they faced, the Knicks and Spurs, beat them by 18 and 11 points, respectively. The Heat are really rolling and, as their previous hot streak this season told us, it\u2019s best to ride them while they\u2019re hot. Go with Miami tonight.<\/p>\n
