The Alabama Crimson Tide have been a bit of a surprise this year. Anthony Grant\u2019s team picked up a huge road win at Tennessee this past Saturday, and they have already beaten Kentucky at home as well. Vanderbilt is 16-6 on the year, and they have lost some games they really should have won. The Commodores are 12-1 at home so far this year. <\/p>\n

Alabama has a nice tandem of scorers in the form of JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell. The two of them combine to score 31 points per game for the Crimson Tide. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The real key to Alabama\u2019s success this year has been their tremendous defense. Alabama is first in the nation in field goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting just 36.2% against them so far this year. Vanderbilt will test this tough defense, but don\u2019t expect Alabama to back down.<\/p>\n

Vanderbilt has four players who average double figures in scoring this year. John Jenkins is the leader of this team, but Jeffery Taylor has the ability to take a game over as well. Festus Ezeli is very talented, but his talents are fairly raw down in the low-post on the offensive end. The Commodores have five guys who shoot 37% or better from beyond the arc. Vanderbilt has been solid on the defensive end as well, but they do give up second chance opportunities a little bit too often. This is a talented team that has the ability to make a run deep into March, but they must become more consistent.<\/p>\n
