The Chicago Bulls had been cruising along playing some terrific basketball until they got to the West coast, and now things have gone south quickly for the team. They actually started out their road trip with a nice win over the Clippers, but they have since been beaten by the Warriors and the Blazers. It will be Carlos Boozer\u2019s first trip back to Utah since he joined the Chicago Bulls. The Utah Jazz have been wildly inconsistent of late. Jerry Sloan\u2019s team needs to start winning a higher percentage of their home games if they are going to move up in the Western Conference standings. This should be a good one in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n

Derrick Rose has been the leader of this Chicago Bulls team all year. Many are saying he is one of the top contenders for the NBA MVP right now, and it is tough to argue with that. Rose has continued to improve his offensive game a great deal in his third year in the league. He has developed a solid three-point shot, which makes his ability to drive that much more dangerous. Carlos Boozer has done a great job in the Bulls lineup, but this team definitely misses Joakim Noah. Noah is out until after the All-Star break with a thumb injury. \"Sports <\/p>\n

What\u2019s the primary reason the Bulls are 34-16 right now? Chicago is playing terrific defense this year. Opponents are shooting just 42.6% against the Bulls, which is the lowest mark in the league. The Bulls are one of the best rebounding teams in the league with a strong frontcourt that matches up against just about anyone. When Chicago struggles it is usually because their offensive inconsistency. <\/p>\n

The Utah Jazz are usually virtually unbeatable at home, but they have already lost 10 games at home this year. Deron Williams is playing through a wrist injury now after missing a few games this past week. Paul Millsap and Raja Bell are banged up as well, but they are expected to play on Wednesday. Mehmet Okur is out indefinitely with a back injury. The Jazz picked up a big win in Denver last week, but then lost at home to the Thunder the next night. They squeaked past the Kings on Monday, and now they look to keep some momentum going forward. The Jazz have a nice frontcourt with Al Jefferson and Millsap, and Williams is one of the best point guards in the league. Utah\u2019s defense is typically one of the best in the league, but that hasn\u2019t been the case so far this season. The Jazz are allowing 99.8 points per game, which is 18th<\/sup> in the NBA. The team has struggled from beyond the arc all year long, and they are definitely missing a guy like Kyle Korver, who will also be making his return to Salt Lake City with the visiting Bulls.<\/p>\n

I would normally lean toward the Jazz in this spot, but they have a lot of key players dinged up right now. The Bulls are tough to back right now after a couple subpar performances on the road. I think the best play in this one is the under. I look for the tempo to stay slow in this one, and I think both defenses will play well.<\/p>\n
