My NFL Pick of the Week may only look like it\u2019s a mediocre 4-3 this season but I was robbed two weeks ago when Cincinnati came out with a late game day decision to sideline quarterback Carson Palmer. Dating back to last season, my weekly favorite is 17-6-1 and if you want to combine the 17-9-2 record on randomly selected games in The NFL Double Take, you should have a pile of extra cash in your pocket.<\/p>\n
Bettors wise enough to heed my advice last week cashed in with the Cleveland Browns as they were 7 \u00bd-point underdogs against the Washington Redskins. The Browns, coming off a big win over the defending Super Bowl champs the week before, weren\u2019t getting the respect they deserved and that made them a steal getting over a touchdown.<\/p>\n
This week, it\u2019s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that don\u2019t seem to be getting the love they deserve as they prepare to play a Dallas Cowboys team that is really struggling. Albeit, 44% of Sportsbook.com members are backing the Bucs as they venture to Dallas, but that number should be higher.<\/p>\n
Tampa Bay can\u2019t seem to get on bettors\u2019 radars as they are continually ignored each week and do nothing but payout. The Bucs have covered five of their last six spreads, narrowly missing a sixth-straight cover last weekend as Seattle scored a late fourth-quarter TD to sneak in the back door and grab the cash, losing 20-10 as 10 \u00bd-point dogs.<\/p>\n
There will be no backdoor business this Sunday though. The Cowboys offense, again minus starting quarterback Tony Romo, goes against a Bucs \u2018D\u2019 ranked 9th in total defense, giving up just 292.7 yards per game and 4th in points against as they allow just 15.3 per game.<\/p>\n
By contrast, the St. Louis Rams\u2019 defense that confused backup quarterback Brad Johnson and limited the \u2018Boys to just 14 points last weekend is ranked 30th in the NFL with 29.7 points against each game and 29th in total defense as they give up 392.7 yards per game.<\/p>\n
Add 12 interceptions so far this season by Tampa and Johnson\u2019s play better improve this week or Dallas bettors are going to be feeling hurt.<\/p>\n
But enough about the defense; everyone knows the Bucs possess a good group of defenders. What people don\u2019t know is that they also have a pretty good offense too.<\/p>\n
Whether they are led by Jeff Garcia or Brian Griese at quarterback, the Bucs offense remains one of the most underrated units in the NFL. In fact, Tampa Bay averages 352.6 yards of offense per game (8th in the NFL).<\/p>\n
Garcia, who starts Sunday, is 42-of-56 for 483 passing yards in his last two starts with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Going against a Cowboys defense that ranks 16th in the league and still smarting from the loss of Adam \u2018Pacman\u2019 Jones to suspension, Garcia should have another big day.<\/p>\n
America\u2019s Team is going to be in a world of trouble after this game. They\u2019ve lost two in a row and the Bucs should put them away in this one.<\/p>\n
