The Northwestern Wildcats have never made The Big Dance, but they are trying to change that this year. If they are going to get into field this year, they\u2019ll need some quality road wins, and one at Minnesota would be a big help. The Minnesota Golden Gophers have been playing good basketball of late, but they got some very bad injury news this week. <\/p>\n

Al Nolen, the starting point guard for the team, will be out indefinitely with a broken foot. How will Minnesota respond? Can the Wildcats pick up a much needed road win? \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Northwestern Wildcats were absolutely embarrassed in their last game. Northwestern was blitzed 78-46 on their home floor by the Wisconsin Badgers. <\/p>\n

They have already lost at Purdue, Michigan State, and Illinois this year. This is a team that really needs a boost right now. John Shurna is the leader of this team, and he is averaging 19 points per game. Northwestern has been efficient on offense this year, but their defense has been terrible. <\/p>\n

They are allowing opponents to shoot 46% from the floor, which is one of the worst marks in the country.<\/p>\n

Minnesota narrowly missed upsetting Ohio State, and they did beat Purdue a few games ago. <\/p>\n

Tubby Smith\u2019s team plays hard for 40 minutes, and they are one of the best rebounding teams in the nation. Trevor Mbakwe is the biggest reason they are so great on the glass. Mbakwe averages 13 points and 10 rebounds per game, and he is a great high energy type of player. <\/p>\n

Blake Hoffarber is one of the best shooters in the land, and if he gets going Minnesota is a very tough team to beat.<\/p>\n
