New York Knicks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview <\/strong><\/p>\n

Toning in a non-conference match up the Oklahoma City Thunder (27-15) host the reeling New York Knicks (22-20). NBA betting lines have the Thunder as 7-point favorites in this game with a total of 221.5.<\/p>\n

The Knicks have really been struggling lately and they are currently on a 5-game losing streak. The Thunder have lost 2 in a row, but they still are in first place in the Northwest Division with a slight \u00bd game lead over the Utah Jazz.<\/p>\n

This season the Thunder are 15-6 at home and the Knicks are 12-11 on the road.<\/p>\n

In their last games the Knicks lost to the San Antonio Spurs 101-92 last night and the Thunder lost to the Denver Nuggets 112-107 on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Speaking of defense the Thunder have not played well on that end of the court in their last 2 losses giving up an average 106.5 ppg and in both games opponents shot over 50% from the floor.<\/p>\n

Thunder PG Russell Westbrook (22.5 ppg 8.4 assists per game) is one player the Knicks really have to worry about, as he has been on fire in his last 5 games going for a double-double every time and averaging 27.4 ppg and 11.8 assists per game in that span.<\/p>\n

The PG match up between Westbrook and New York\u2019s Raymond Felton (17.7 ppg 8.8 assists per game) is a key one, as these guys not only need to score, but get their teammates involved, especially on the fast break.<\/p>\n

Both teams like to get out and run, but if the Thunder can slow down the Knicks and make them score in the half court game they have a big advantage tonight.<\/p>\n

Neither team has a lot of size inside and both team are mediocre on the boards this season with the Thunder ranking 15th in the league in rebounds per game and the Knicks ranking 16th. It may be more important for the Knicks to hit the glass tonight, as in their 5-game losing streak they have been out-rebounded every time.<\/p>\n

These teams play similar games and each will light up the scoreboard tonight. The Thunder are a solid home team and while they will win this game and extend the Knicks\u2019 losing streak it will be a close game and New York will cover the 7-point spread.<\/p>\n
