The Mavs? Underdogs at home? You bet. First off, they\u2019re facing the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers. These Lakers have won eight of their last nine games. Secondly, the Lakers have won eight of the last 10 meetings between these two teams.<\/p>\n

Finally and most importantly, Dallas is in a horrific tailspin. The Mavericks have lost six consecutive games, also going 0-6 against the spread over that span. The last five losses over that stretch were by 10 or more points. Some of their struggles could be blamed on losing Caron Butler and Dirk Nowitzki to knee injuries. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Butler is done for the year but Dirk is back and he still couldn\u2019t stop Dallas from losing by 14 points to the lowly Pistons on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks will eventually snap out of their funk \u2013 but tonight probably isn\u2019t the night for that to happen. <\/p>\n

Ever since they were accused of struggling a few weeks back, the Lakers have been on a mission. Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom keep getting the job done and Andre Bynum is finally starting to look healthy. <\/p>\n
