\nAs teams like the Heat, Bulls and Magic have shown us, a lot can change in one month. Let\u2019s have a look at who\u2019s rising, who\u2019s falling and who\u2019s standing pat in the NBA championship futures.<\/p>\n

RISERS<\/h3>\n

Miami Heat (+160)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Heat are back to where they were before the season started, leading the way among the contenders. Hard to believe this team started 8-5. The Heat are 22-6 since and were 22-4 before dropping two straight this week.<\/p>\n

Chicago Bulls (+1500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the best Bulls team since Michael Jordan left. Derrick Rose is approaching superstar status and the Bulls are monsters in the paint with Carlos Boozer, Luol Deng and, when he returns from injury, Joakim Noah.<\/p>\n

Orlando Magic (+1800)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who knew how important Hedo Turkoglu was for team chemistry? He was a cancer in places like Toronto but for some reason the Magic win with him. It helps to have that Dwight Howard guy, too.<\/p>\n

New York Knicks (+2500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

With odds of +2500, they\u2019re obviously not among the elite, but they weren\u2019t even part of the championship discussion over the offseason. The Amar\u2019e Stoudemire\/Raymond Felton experiment is working beautifully. If the Knicks win the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes, they would become top-five contenders.<\/p>\n

FALLERS<\/h3>\n

Los Angeles Lakers (+350)<\/strong><\/p>\n

They still have the third best odds to win it all, so they haven\u2019t fallen off the map,\u00a0 but the Lakers have come back to the pack. It\u2019s not even that they\u2019re playing poorly; they aren\u2019t. The competition around them just seems to be improving. Three-peating will be a challenge. \"Sports<\/p>\n

Dallas Mavericks (+1500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mavs still have a good record but it may be time to write off their title hopes for 2011. Caron Butler is done for the year and Dirk Nowitzki is far from healthy.<\/p>\n

Portland Trail Blazers (+20000)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hard to believe the talent-rich Blazers\u2019 odds now wallow alongside Minnesota\u2019s or Sacramento\u2019s. But that\u2019s what happens when you lose Greg Oden and, now, Brandon Roy to long-term injuries.<\/p>\n

STANDING PAT<\/h3>\n

Boston Celtics (+220)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be surprised if the Celtics wind up in the \u201cFallers\u201d section the next time we revisit NBA futures. Kevin Garnett\u2019s age is once again catching up to him. Aside from Rajon Rondo, this is a creaky, veteran lineup. They\u2019re still outstanding but are they a house of cards?<\/p>\n

San Antonio Spurs (+400)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like Tim Duncan, they\u2019re perpetually underwhelming but they perpetually get the job done. Would you put it past the Spurs to snag another NBA title under Gregg Popovich with their great team play? I wouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Oklahoma City thunder (+2500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Thunder were a sexy sleeper entering the year and they\u2019ve maintained that status. They haven\u2019t reached the next tier but, thanks to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, could win a playoff series this year.<\/p>\n
