Ashton Gibbs led the way with 19 points, while Brad Wanamaker added 15 points, six assists and five assists for the Panthers, who shot a ridiculous 60% from the field, including 10 of 18 attempts from beyond the arc. <\/p>\n<p>Those\u00a0betting on NCAA football watched the Pitt gridiron suffer through a terrible season, on and off the field, but they stepped to get a big bowl win. Now, the attention turns to coach Jamie Dixon and the basketball team, who should be harboring serious national-title dreams this season, and they\u2019re off to a great start.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t say the same for the Hoyas (12-4, 1-3), who were ranked 13<sup>th<\/sup> but will probably fall after a 65-59 loss at home to West Virginia, their third loss in four games. This will be a game fought on the perimeter, as Gibbs and Wanamaker will go up against Clark and Freeman, but the Panthers have a slight edge as they\u2019re a much better rebounding team than the Hoyas, who have long shed their tag of being an inside team. <\/p>\n<p>The Panthers are third in the nation on the glass, while the Hoyas are 223<sup>rd<\/sup>, and that\u2019s going to be the difference. Everyone hits the boards for the Panthers, while Georgetown seems to be, well, soft, to be frank.
