The Longhorns continued their incredible undefeated season by trouncing the Tigers 56-31. Can you say Heisman? We\u2019ll have an update on the Heisman Race (and I use that term loosely) tomorrow, but for now let\u2019s see which teams are vying for those BCS votes and which teams aren\u2019t worthy of your betting consideration. <\/p>\n
Colt McCoy launched 337 passing yards and two definitive scores in the much needed thrashing of Missouri. The worst part of their schedule is now behind them as they return as favorites when they host Oklahoma State this weekend. Scoring 48.1 points per game is impressive as it is. Holding teams to only 17.6 points against will get you noticed. You have to hand it to Colt McCoy. After three years of erratic performances, he\u2019s finally showing the stuff of a champion. Will he be one at season\u2019s end?<\/p>\n
Next Game: Oklahoma State vs. Texas -11.5<\/em><\/p>\n There isn\u2019t a better time to role with the Crimson Tide than now. Nobody expected them to be winning this much, but they are. And despite the SU victories, those that are more concerned with the spread victory have to be concerned that Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss have pummeled the Tide in the second half by an accumulated total of 61-13. That\u2019s not the type of stat you want heading in to the second half of the season, with so much riding on the line. With all that and Nick Saban\u2019s bad karma in their back pocket, this is the time to start rolling away from the Tide.<\/p>\n Next Game: Alabama -6.5 vs. Tennessee<\/em><\/p>\n The Lions have been stunning the betting world by putting up 45.4 points per game and rolling to an undefeated season thus far. Their BCS odds will sky rocket with a win over the suddenly punchy Ohio State Buckeyes. If they desire the legitimacy of a real BCS contender, they have to vanquish Ohio and Terrell Pryor, which will test this defense to its limits.<\/p>\n Next Game: Penn State -2.5 vs. Ohio State<\/em><\/p>\n The Sooners recovered from the loss to Texas quickly, dispatching of Kansas 45-31 with no problem. While that loss is a big deal, it\u2019s not nearly as bad as Missouri\u2019s. Sam Bradford is quickly evolving in to one of the best, young quarterbacks in the game and has done wonders for his draft status should he choose to move in to the NFL ranks next year. In the meantime, his focus will be on the Heisman and plowing through Kansas State this weekend.<\/p>\n Next Game: Oklahoma -19 vs. Kansas State<\/em><\/p>\n Ok, the Trojans are a great team, but I don\u2019t think they\u2019re championship caliber. I\u2019ve been saying that all year. They destroyed Washington State 69-0 but that team is horrific. <\/a>The fact that they\u2019re in a depleted Pac-10 is always going to help their chances of maintaining a strong record, but it doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re ready if they were to test their mettle against a legit contender (and no, Ohio State doesn\u2019t count).<\/p>\n Next Game: USC -15 vs. Arizona<\/em><\/p>\n The Gators will face the biggest game of their season when they face Georgia this weekend, but they\u2019ll have to deal with Kentucky this weekend. They\u2019ve gone 21-0 SU in their last 21 games against the Wildcats. They\u2019re creeping up the ranks, but have to prove to be more consistent offensively as they season continues.<\/p>\n Next Game: Florida -22 vs. Kentucky<\/em><\/p>\n Anytime a team is undefeated you have to give them credit. Though the Raiders are beating up on brutal teams this season, the duo of Michael Crabtree and Graham Harrell is performing wonders. If you have the chance, check out this offense because it\u2019s impossible to not enjoy watching them. The matchup against Kansas is when things could get ugly for Texas Tech.
