After weeks of teams hanging on to frail playoff hopes, Week 16 helped finally materialize some things for us. Some teams clinched while others were eliminated. <\/p>\n

NFL Week 16<\/h3>\n

Steelers 27, Panthers 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s hoping you followed Yours Truly\u2019s advice and bet on Pittsburgh in this game despite the big spread. The Panthers just didn\u2019t have a hope in hell with Jimmy Clausen under center in a night game at Pittsburgh in December.<\/p>\n

Cardinals 27, Cowboys 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strangely enough, the Cowboys almost seemed to get caught \u201clooking past\u201d the Cardinals in this one. I know Dallas is long out of it but, under Jason Garrett, America\u2019s Team has enjoyed playing spoiler against good teams. The Cowboys just couldn\u2019t get up for Arizona.<\/p>\n

Chiefs 34, Titans 14<\/strong><\/p>\n

They did it. The Chiefs are AFC West Champions. Pretty cool to see an old-school franchise with such a jacked up fan base back in the playoffs. Make that 27 touchdown passes and just five interceptions in 14 games for Matt Cassel. Wow.<\/p>\n

Ravens 20, Browns 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ravens didn\u2019t have too much trouble after the first quarter in this one: they have Cleveland\u2019s number. Concerning subplot: Peyton Hillis coming back to Earth. Juggernaut has only 65.8 rushing yards per game and no touchdowns in his last four.<\/p>\n

Patriots 34, Bills 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have to love a powerhouse that doesn\u2019t discriminate. The Patriots have just as much fun blowing out the lowly Bills as they do contenders like the Bears.<\/p>\n

Rams 25, 49ers 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, the Rams answer the bell. I know 7-8 is a pitiful record for a team on the cusp of winning a division but the Rams deserve a playoff berth more than the Seahawks, don\u2019t they? \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Lions 34, Dolphins 27<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are the Lions the 2009 Chiefs? The bottom feeder that keeps beating the spread, losing close, pulling off the odd upset? It\u2019ll be interesting to see if they can make similar strides next year.<\/p>\n

Redskins 20, Jaguars 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Talk about a choke job by the Jaguars. Given how well their line had been playing of late, I figured they\u2019d run through Washington at home even without MoJo. It wasn\u2019t to be. Jack Del Rio\u2019s job is officially in jeopardy again.<\/p>\n

Bears 38, Jets 34<\/strong><\/p>\n

Didn\u2019t see this score coming. With 11 wins, the Bears are forcing us to take them seriously. Why, though, do I still see a Jay Cutler playoff meltdown coming?<\/p>\n

Broncos 24, Texans 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Texans continue to show that they\u2019re Bungles 2.0. Outscored 24-0 by Denver in the second half. And how about Tim Tebow? It was against the league\u2019s worst secondary but 308 passing yards from the rookie opened some eyes.<\/p>\n

Colts 31, Raiders 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peyton Manning is making better decisions with the ball now and the Colts are winning because of it. Case in point: downing the ball short of the goal line late in the game after his naked bootleg. Fantasy football players will hate him for that but he clinched the win by doing it.<\/p>\n

Bengals 34, Chargers 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

At first glance, this final score is eye-popping. What? The Chargers blew their season by losing to the Bengals? When you look closer, though, this was a warm-weather, west-coast team making a cross-country trip to play a cold-weather, east-coast team. Tough conditions to endure.<\/p>\n

Buccaneers 38, Seahawks 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

As much as the Packers appear to control their own destiny…isn\u2019t it still possible for the 9-6 Buccaneers to qualify? Someone do the math. And post it in the comments section, please.<\/p>\n

Packers 45, Giants 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

I actually called a Packers blowout win over the Giants. The Patriots were blowing everyone out and the Pack only lost by four points at New England with Matt Flynn at quarterback. Back at home and with Aaron Rodgers under center, it\u2019s no wonder they dominated.<\/p>\n
