New York Giants
\n<\/strong>This week is a really tough spot for the Giants. \u00a0Last week\u2019s loss to the Eagles was both heartbreaking and humiliating as they squandered a huge lead. \u00a0It also hurt their playoff chances and now they are on the road facing another team fighting for their playoff life, the Packers. \u00a0It is amazing how one horribly bad half of a quarter of football can affect the outcome of a whole season and it will be a real test for coach Coughlin to get the team ready to compete.<\/p>\n

Everything went wrong in that 4th quarter on Sunday – offense, defense and especially special teams. \u00a0The Giants need to get their running game back on track so they can grind out games where that they are leading. \u00a0That is the M.O. of Coughlin\u2019s squad, get the lead, pressure the QB than salt away the victory with the running game. \u00a0They have the right personnel for this they just need to execute. \u00a0Lets call last week a bit of a fluke.<\/p>\n

Two years ago the Giants walked into a chilly Lambeau Field and upset the Packers in the playoffs. \u00a0This game has the same sort of urgency and the Giants need to turn the trick again. \u00a0It is never easy winning with the cheeseheads screaming their heads off but the Giants have done so the last two times they have visited Green Bay. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Green Bay
\n<\/strong>The Packers have frittered away too many games and can\u2019t afford another loss. \u00a0They have a very tough end to their schedule with the Giants visiting next week and a game against the Bears the week after. \u00a0If they don\u2019t win on Sunday they will be eliminated from the race which would be a huge disappointment given the expectations they had coming into this season.<\/p>\n

With so much on the line the Packers must feel fortunate to get QB Aaron Rodgers back from his concussion. \u00a0Matt Flynn was very good against New England last week but the vision of him against Detroit still lingers. \u00a0If Rodgers is healthy than Green Bay has a great chance provided they can keep him upright. \u00a0The Giants have one of the most menacing pass rushes in the league and you know they will be after the skittish QB, looking to eliminate him the way they have others throughout the season.<\/p>\n

As much as they need Rodgers to perform the Packers also need the defense to step up. \u00a0Green Bay has the #1 scoring defense in the NFL but they couldn\u2019t hold the lead that Matt Flynn and the offense built last weekend against New England. \u00a0The Giants offense may be a notch below New England but it is still very good. \u00a0Green Bay\u2019s D will have to help out Rodgers by putting him in some good situations and by not allowing the Giants to control the ball for long stretches.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong> Sorry Packer fans, I think the Giants are going to rip your heart out again…after they knock Rodgers out of the game. \u00a0Without a running game to keep them honest the Giants pass rushers will pin their ears back and give Matt Flynn some more playing time.<\/p>\n
