I hope this is the first year of the Missouri Valley-Mountain West Challenge because I didn’t know it existed until yesterday. \u00a0Still they got the marquee matchup right and it isn’t even bracket buster time yet. \u00a0Wichita State is expected to be the be best team in the “Valley” are off to a decent start.<\/p>\n

Their one loss was to Connecticut (no shame there) but they haven’t beaten anybody yet. \u00a0This will be a good test and if they are going to pull it off they need to get Toure’ Murray going. \u00a0He is an expected all league selection but is barely averaging 10 points a game thus far. \u00a0He is their leading rebounder in the early going which is both good an bad. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Good that he is hitting the boards but bad in that it means others, notably centre J.T. Durley, are not hitting the board. \u00a0The Aztecs are strong on the glass so they are going to have be more aggressive if they want to win on the road in what should be a huge RPI boosting game.<\/p>\n

The Aztecs were outside the top 25 when the season started but are now looking like a top 15 team. \u00a0They return all of their starters from last year and have one of the more impressive wins of the young season beating Gonzaga up in Spokane.<\/p>\n

This is a very efficient team (5th in FG%) and Kawhi Leonard, despite being somewhat undersized is averaging a double-double. \u00a0They may not be all 5 star recruits but this team have everything, size, shooting, athleticism and most importantly they play really well as a team.<\/p>\n

There is a very good chance that they will be undefeated heading into the Mountain West Conference regular season…and it wouldn’t be a shock to me if they were able to run the table. \u00a0(I really like these guys)<\/p>\n
