With last week\u2019s win and Green Bay\u2019s loss the Bears are essentially two games ahead of the Packers with a chance to put even more pressure on them with a win against Detroit.\u00a0 Back in week one the Bears were outplayed by the Lions and won when a controversial call denied Detroit a touchdown.\u00a0 Now they have to visit the Lion\u2019s den where they play much better than they do on the road.<\/p>\n

Last week against Philadelphia the offense finally earned a win.\u00a0 Jay Cutler was superb throwing for 4 TDs with no interceptions and Matt Forte was able to run for more than 100 yards on the ground.\u00a0 With the Bears strong defense it is a simple winning formula but one they have had difficulty repeating this year.\u00a0 The Lions defense will make it a bit easier but the key is on the Chicago side as their wounds are often self inflicted i.e. turnovers.<\/p>\n

The Bears might have been lucky in the opener but that made it 5 in a row against the Lions.\u00a0 To be fair to Detroit though that isn\u2019t really saying much as recently Detroit has been downright awful.\u00a0 The Bears have been favoured in every game against Detroit since 2006.\u00a0 However they are only 4-5 ATS in those contests so sometimes even in a loss the Lions get the best of them. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Detroit<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lions are the scariest two win team in football.\u00a0 They have had some very close calls against good teams like the Jets and Philadelphia but haven\u2019t been able to close the deal.\u00a0 Still with two wins already this could be the best year for the Lions in a while.\u00a0 Their closing schedule is no picnic but a win or two may be in the offing if they can just improve their defense a little bit to give their offense a chance to win the game.<\/p>\n

No matter who has been operating the offense the Lions have been able to move the ball, especially through the air.\u00a0 Calvin Johnson is one of the scariest matchups in the league and he is on pace for his best year yet in terms of scoring.\u00a0 He is the one spot on the field where the Lions have a decisive advantage and they need to attack with him from the get go.\u00a0 This offense can be very good when they are clicking.<\/p>\n

It will be up to the defense if they are going to pull the upset.\u00a0 Statistically they are not very good but with Jay Cutler on the other side anything can happen.\u00a0 One bad turnover could turn the game in the Lions favour as the Bears offense is still not very impressive.\u00a0 I expect a close contest…a battle.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>I like the Lions to make a stand and I don\u2019t trust the Bears.\u00a0 It feels like a FG game that either team could win.\u00a0 Take the points and it you are gutsy call on the Lions for the upset.<\/p>\n
