How Can Washington Win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

For each of these teams, the same game keys apply, only to different degrees. Washington has to find a running game. The Redskins rushed for only 29 yards in a 17-13 loss to Minnesota last weekend on home turf at FedEx Field. Washington\u2019s offensive line has been horrible in 2010, but if Shanahan\u2019s squad expects to go into the Meadowlands and knock off the Giants, a big day from the offensive front is simply a non-negotiable requirement. The Redskins\u2019\u00a0defense is solid, and can definitely pluck a few interceptions from the right arm of Eli Manning.<\/p>\n

However, if Washington\u2019s offensive line doesn\u2019t deliver the goods, the Redskins won\u2019t claim a victory they absolutely have to get.<\/p>\n

How Can New York Win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s\u00a0true that the Giants, like the Redskins, need to establish their own ground attack to a better extent. However, with New York, the focus is a little more specific than it is for the Redskins. The Giants must run the ball, but they must run the ball without fumbling. Ahmad Bradshaw has fumbled far too many times this season, squandering a number of promising possessions for coach Tom Coughlin\u2019s team. Turnovers in untimely situations \u2013 in the red zone and in tight contests \u2013 have really hurt New York this season.<\/p>\n

With better ball security, the Giants instantly become a much better team. New York is in good shape to make the playoffs, but the Giants want to get a first-round bye as well. That will only happen if they can win at least four of their last five games, if not all five. This team needs to start acting like a true Super Bowl contender. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This has been a very rocky, bumpy season for an NFC East team. The high-profile, big-name quarterback has not made all the plays he should be making. The team\u2019s rushing attack gets bottled up and can\u2019t be relied upon. The defense, though generally solid, exhibits surprising bouts of weakness at times, especially against the run.<\/p>\n

Points get left on the field and game days are much harder than they need to be.<\/p>\n

No, we\u2019re not talking primarily about the New York Giants. We\u2019re talking about the Washington Redskins, even though the Giants share a lot of the same qualities, only to a lesser extent. Yes, it\u2019s been a tough year for NFC East teams not named Philadelphia. The Eagles weren\u2019t expected to be at the top of the division alongside the Giants; the Redskins were after Donovan McNabb shifted teams in the offseason.<\/p>\n

However, the 2010 NFL campaign has been a disaster in D.C., as head coach Mike Shanahan has plainly failed to handle McNabb with a deft touch.<\/p>\n

Washington looks just as mediocre as it did under former coach Jim Zorn and former quarterback Jason Campbell. The NFL\u2019s most dysfunctional franchise sees no light at the end of the tunnel.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s no way to enter this divisional duel with the Giants, who \u2013 while extremely volatile and baffling in 2010 \u2013 have found a way to stay in the divisional race entering the month of December.<\/p>\n

The Giants might not play their very best game, but the Redskins aren\u2019t good enough to beat them. With that said, it\u2019s a little surprising that in a backyard brawl between two familiar foes, the Giants are giving more than a touchdown.
