Middle Tennessee State<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blue Raiders have been a complete disappointment this season.\u00a0 At the beginning of the year many though they had a chance to be Sun Belt champions and now the most they can hope for is a .500 season and a chance at a bowl game.\u00a0 Even that is only a result of late season victories over Florida Atlantice and Western Kentucky.\u00a0 They beat WKU, the worst team in the league, by just a single point.<\/p>\n

The primary reason for their struggles has been QB Dwight Dasher.\u00a0 Since coming back from his early season suspension he has been a shell of the player that was among the most exciting in the nation the year before.\u00a0 He has thrown 13 interceptions against just 5 TDs this season and his running is generating only 3.5 yards per carry.\u00a0 On a team without great playmakers they are forced to keep trotting him out there and his poor performance is a bit of a mystery.<\/p>\n

These teams have met five times and all five have been won by the home team.\u00a0 On top of that those home victors are also a perfect 5-0 ATS.\u00a0 That seems like a hard trend for a middling MTSU squad to buck on Saturday.\u00a0 Their only chance is if Dasher can turn back the clock and have a game like he did last year, overcoming 3 interceptions with a couple through the air and 3 more on the ground in a 48-21 victory. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Florida International<\/strong><\/p>\n

If my math is correct the Golden Panthers have already clinched the Sun Belt championship by virtue of their victory over Troy earlier this season.\u00a0 That gives them the tiebreaker edge should they lose to MTSU while Troy wins this week.\u00a0 This has the makings of a very good season for the other squad in Miami with any wins from here on out gravy on top. <\/p>\n

The Golden Panthers may be playing with SEC and ACC leftovers but they have been getting the job done.\u00a0 Sure they lost to 4 straight BCS opponents to start the season but since Sun Belt play opened they have just a single loss.\u00a0 Their formula is to play it pretty simple and try and set up their best playmaker TY Hilton to make a play either receiving, running or in the return game that will make a difference.\u00a0 He has scored every which way this season.<\/p>\n

FIU should be able to put the Blue Raiders out of their misery with a victory.\u00a0 MTSU doesn\u2019t deserve to sneak into a bowl game the way they have played this season and the Golden Panthers have the chance to make sure that doesn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 The key is to bottle up Dasher who should be pretty geeked up considering it could be his final game as a collegian.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>FIU should be able to corral Dasher and get some big plays from their own super hero Hilton.\u00a0 A pretty drab game but a victory nonetheless.<\/p>\n
