Northern Illinois<\/strong><\/p>\n

It may only be the MAC but it is still impressive that the Huskies went undefeated in their conference this season.\u00a0 Not only did they go 8-0 SU but they were a perfect 8-0 ATS as well so if you had been following them there was money to be made.\u00a0 Only one league game was as close as a TD and they finished the season by dropping 71 points on Eastern Michigan last week.\u00a0 No wonder this is the biggest spread in a championship game this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Huskies have an underrated potent attack featuring the ground game.\u00a0 They are 7th in the nation in rushing yards per game and lead back Chad Spann ran for 20 TDs this season.\u00a0 Granted the competition wasn\u2019t always stellar but by the end of the year they had given up an\u00a0 average of only 18ppg for an average margin of victory of 21ppg.\u00a0 This is one of the more dominant MAC squads in a long time.<\/p>\n

These two teams did not meet during the regular season but have done so the past two years and both times the Huskies beat the Redhawks.\u00a0 In fact they have won the last five going back to 2002 but are only 2-3 ATS.\u00a0 With the large spread another Miami cover might come to fruition on Saturday but an upset seems unlikely. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Miami<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Redhawks may not be the most impressive team up close but they had to win to get here.\u00a0 Last week they beat Temple by 20 so when Ohio couldn\u2019t get it done against Kent State on Saturday they became the Eastern Division champs with only a single MAC loss.\u00a0 The stats are not flattering to the Redhawks but they have been able to collect wins throughout the season.<\/p>\n

Against Temple QB Austin Boucher started in place of Zac Dysert.\u00a0 The freshman was effective enough for the Redhawks to win easily and it looks like he will be forced into action again on Saturday.\u00a0 If that is the case the Redhawks will need another big game from RB Thomas Merriweather.\u00a0 Merriweather ran for 182 yards last week and has topped 140 the last two.\u00a0 It is especially impressive given that makes up almost half of his season total.<\/p>\n

Miami has enjoyed a nice bounce back season but it is hard to see them winning the Championship.\u00a0 The Huskies are a tough veteran team with a really solid offensive line.\u00a0 They held their own against BCS competition which is something Miami really struggled with.\u00a0 They are the class of the MAC and deserve to be the champions.\u00a0 I just don\u2019t like that spread for a championship game.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong> Huskies should win easily but I don\u2019t like that big number.\u00a0 Too much of a backdoor opportunity.<\/p>\n
