Carolina<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Carolina Panthers have had a season to forget. John Fox\u2019s team is now 1-9, and they have yet to win a game on the road this year. The Panthers haven\u2019t even been competitive of late, losing each of their last three games by at least 15 points.<\/p>\n

Matt Moore is on injured reserve and Jimmy Clausen is dealing with symptoms of a concussion, so Brian St. Pierre may well make the start this weekend for the Panthers. He started last week, and that was the first start of his career. The Panthers passing game hasn\u2019t been able to get going this year no matter who has been under center. Carolina is last in the NFL in passing yards, averaging just 156 yards per game. The rushing attack has also been disappointing this year. The Panthers are picking up just 96 yards per game on the ground. This is an offense that has no identity at all right now.<\/p>\n

The Carolina defense has been better than the offense, but they have been no better than mediocre. The secondary is solid, but the front seven isn\u2019t nearly as strong as they were a few years ago. The Panthers are allowing 128 rushing yards per game. They haven\u2019t done a good job forcing field goals, as evidenced by their defense allowing 25 points per game. \"Sports<\/a><\/p>\n

Cleveland<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Browns have pulled off some big upsets, and they are clearly a team that is slowly on the rise. Eric Mangini\u2019s team now believes they can beat anyone. The Browns know that this is a game they need to win to continue their momentum.<\/p>\n

Colt McCoy has boosted the Browns offense nicely, but he is doubtful for this Sunday\u2019s game because of an ankle injury. Jake Delhomme, who hasn\u2019t played since week five, is expected to start under center for Cleveland. Delhomme wasn\u2019t impressive in his time as the starter earlier this year, and if he wants to keep his job longer than a week or two he\u2019ll need to lead the offense efficiently. The surprising star of the year for the Browns is Peyton Hillis. Hillis has 774 yards rushing on the year, and he has also caught 40 passes for 351 yards. He has been the featured back the Browns have needed badly for several years.<\/p>\n

The Cleveland defense has given up a lot of yards this year, but they have done a nice job keeping the opposition out of the end zone. The Browns are allowing just 20.6 points per game this season. Cleveland has done a nice job forcing turnovers that put the offense in a good starting spot. Since the Panthers have almost no passing game, I would expect Cleveland to gear up to stop the run in this one.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Browns had been picking up steam with McCoy at quarterback, but Delhomme hasn\u2019t proven anything yet this year. The Panthers offense just doesn\u2019t appear ready to score many points on anyone right now. I think the under is the best play on the board in this game.<\/p>\n
