On a radio show this week, Jackson addressed the rumors that Riley would take over coaching duties for the floundering Miami Heat. He said his take on the situation was that \u201ceventually if things don\u2019t straighten out here soon, it could be the Van Gundy thing all over again.\u201d <\/p>\n
Van Gundy was infuriated by the remark, calling the comment \u201cinappropriate\u201d and \u201cignorant\u201d and insisting that Jackson has \u201cno inside knowledge of any analogy he could make to my situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
MLB news: Pirates trade Zach Duke to Diamondbacks<\/strong><\/p>\nRemember Zach Duke? The former fantasy baseball darling who debuted with an 8-2 record and 1.81 ERA in 2005? We have two stories to report about him. First, he\u2019s alive. Second, he\u2019s been traded. The Pirates shipped him to the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday for a player to be named. Duke went 8-15 with a 5.72 ERA for Pittsburgh last year.<\/p>\n
NCAA football news: Boise State president fires back at Ohio State\u2019s Gee<\/strong><\/p>\nEarly this week, Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee ripped on Boise State, saying the Broncos (and TCU) didn\u2019t deserve a BCS title game berth even if they went undefeated. Gee added that the power conferences like his (The Big Ten) \u201cdon\u2019t play the Little Sisters of the Poor.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boise State president Bob Kustra fired back yesterday. He said that Gee\u2019s claim that the Big Ten and SEC play a \u201cmurderer\u2019s row\u201d schedule is \u201cthe greatest exaggeration I think we\u2019ve heard this year in college football.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kustra was also unimpressed by Ohio State\u2019s last two schedules, claiming \u201cIf [the Buckeyes] are not playing the Little Sisters of the Poor, they\u2019re playing the Little Brothers.\u201d<\/p>\n
I have to see, Mr. Kustra, you had me until that comment. Ohio State has played Miami, Wisconsin, Penn State and Iowa already this year. That ain\u2019t exactly easy.<\/p>\n
