Minnesota<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well the Vikings finally did it, firing coach Childress earlier this week.\u00a0 Leslie Frazier is the new man in charge and it will be interesting to see what he can do, especially since he has said he is sticking with Favre.\u00a0 Many have thought that Frazier was in line for a job and if you forget the circumstances of the Vikings today this is a pretty good one.\u00a0 The Vikings have a lot of talent and maybe they have found the right guy to make it work.<\/p>\n

Considering he is stuck with him, it was smart of Frazier to say Favre is his guy.\u00a0 Anything other than that would have only added to the storm.\u00a0 I am not sure what kind of relationship they have but I think Frazier is less likely to force the aging QB into having to win games for him.\u00a0 I hope Adrian Peterson is in shape because if I was Frazier I would turn All Day into All Season.\u00a0 Its the best chance they have of winning. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These teams haven\u2019t met since 2007 but have much in common.\u00a0 They are both disappointing this year and are led by QBs whose best years are behind them.\u00a0 The Vikings had to make a move with Childress as things were getting more toxic by the second.\u00a0 I am sure someone has the numbers on this one way or the other but I think teams can get a boost in that first game after a coaching change and I expect Minnesota to be real sharp this week.<\/p>\n

Washington<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Redskins are probably happy that all the attention this week has been on their opponents.\u00a0 At 5-5 they still have a chance to challenge for a playoff spot but it doesn\u2019t look god with the Giants and Eagles playing well and the Redskins not.\u00a0 They too have been disappointed with the play of their QB and rightfully so.\u00a0 Still he is not even close to the only problem on this disappointing team.<\/p>\n

One of the big problems has been in the backfield where Clinton Portis and Ryan Torain are unlikely to play this weekend.\u00a0 As a result the running chores will fall to Keiland Williams and James Davis.\u00a0 Williams has been OK since forced into duty but hasn\u2019t been able to break many big plays for the Skins whose attack is pretty anemic these days.\u00a0 He is physical but doesn\u2019t scare opponents.\u00a0 Neither does Davis and both will find it tough sledding against the 8th ranked run defense in the league.<\/p>\n

The Vikings have yet to win on the road this year which plays to the Redskins favour.\u00a0 But if Washington is going to win they are going to have to match the emotion and energy that the Vikings are sure to bring on Sunday.\u00a0 That kind of leadership is not the style of Donovan McNabb or coach Shanahan.\u00a0 That is just one of the many reasons that Washington will lose on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>The hopped up Vikes are a great play this week.<\/p>\n
