Cincinnati<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cincinnati Bengals may be the most disappointing team in the NFL this year. The team went out and picked up Terrell Owens, who has played very well, but the rest of the team has been horrible. They are out of it for this year, and Marvin Lewis\u2019\u00a0 job may be in danger.<\/p>\n

The Bengals offense played their best half of the year in the first half last week against Buffalo, then scored zero points in the second half. Carson Palmer has had another disappointing season, even with his improved weapons at wide receiver and tight end. Palmer has thrown 13 interceptions, and several of them have led directly to touchdowns for the opposition. Palmer\u2019s quarterback rating of 82.1 is the lowest since his rookie season. Cedric Benson was terrific last year, but the running game has been pathetic this season. Benson is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry, and he has run for 100 yards only twice this year.<\/p>\n

The Bengals defense hasn\u2019t been any better. This unit ranked in the top five all of last year, but they just aren\u2019t performing this year. They are allowing 26.2 points per game, which is 26th<\/sup> in the NFL. Injuries have begun to take a toll on this team over the last few weeks, especially in the secondary. Ryan Fitzpatrick lit up this Bengals defense in the second half last week, and the Bills put up 35 points in that half. \"Sports<\/a><\/p>\n

New York<\/strong><\/p>\n

It hasn\u2019t been pretty the last few weeks, but the Jets just keep on winning. Last weekend\u2019s win over Houston was as dramatic as you\u2019ll ever see. This team must improve, but fans are certainly comforted by the fact that they continue to win.<\/p>\n

Mark Sanchez is definitely improving in his second year as a starter at the quarterback position. He almost has as many yards passing as he did all of last year, and his touchdown\/interception ratio is much better. He is now looking like the leader that he was at USC. The New York offense is still led by their terrific ground game. Both Tomlinson and Greene are having solid seasons for the Jets, who rank fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game. This offensive line is one of the best in the league.<\/p>\n

The Jets defense is down a little from last year so far, but they are still a formidable unit. The injury to Kris Jenkins has hurt their run defense a bit, but they are still fifth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed. The secondary has given up big plays too often this year. The talent is there in the secondary, but they must start communicating a little better. Overall, this team is still only allowing 17.7 points per game.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bengals have very little to play for right now, and I wouldn\u2019t be a bit surprised to see them lay down in this one. I think the Jets will be ready for their Thanksgiving Day showcase. I expect the Jets to force some turnovers and win this one handily. I like the Jets -8.5 here.<\/p>\n
