The Washington Redskins look to quickly erase the memory of last Monday night\u2019s 31-point loss to Philadelphia when they head to Nashville to play the Titans this upcoming Sunday afternoon at LP Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast regionally on FOX.<\/p>\n

Washington is still trying to catch the number of the bus that ran it over last Monday night, but everyone knows is was Michael Vick\u2019s number seven. The 59-28 loss to the Eagles dropped the Redskins to 4-5 straight-up and 4-4-1 against the spread for the season. They are currently two games in back of Philadelphia and New York in the NFC East and a loss this week could send them spiraling out of the playoff picture.<\/p>\n

Most of the drama surrounding this team has been about the relationship between head coach Mike Shanahan and quarterback Donovan McNabb, but the real problem with Washington has been its defense\u2019s inability to shut anyone down. When you add in the numbers from Monday night\u2019s debacle, the Redskins are now ranked dead last in total defense. \"NFL<\/a><\/p>\n

They are ranked 25th<\/sup> against the run; giving up an average of 128.8 yards per game and 31st<\/sup> against the pass; giving up an average of 286.6 yards per game. This has all added up to an average of 25.4 points allowed per game; which ranks them 26th<\/sup> overall.<\/p>\n

Tennessee comes into this game following a disappointing 29-17 loss to Miami in a game it was favored by 1 \u00bd points on the road. The most embarrassing aspect of this loss is that the Dolphins got it done with their third-string quarterback Tyler Thigpen after their first two QB were injured. The Titans are now 5-4 SU and ATS on the year and a game behind Indianapolis in the AFC South.<\/p>\n

Much of Tennessee\u2019s drama has also revolved around the quarterback position but for completely different reasons. Both Vince Young and Kerry Collins have been battling through injuries all season long and it\u2019s been a question mark almost every week as to which one will be able to start. Young is expected to get the start in this game as Collins is now out with a calf injury. Whoever is behind center has a perfect opportunity to make newly acquired WR Randy Moss a huge part of this week\u2019s game plan against a very porous Washington secondary.<\/p>\n

Washington is 5-2-1 ATS in its last eight road games and 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11 games following a SU loss. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019\u00a0in five of its last seven games on the road and in 13 of its last 19 games overall.<\/p>\n

Tennessee is 1-5 ATS in its last six games as a favorite of more than 3 \u00bd\u00a0points but 5-2 ATS in its last seven games in the month of November. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019\u00a0 in six of its last seven home games and in five of its last six games overall.<\/p>\n

It is hard to know exactly how the Redskins will react to last week\u2019s loss but they are facing a much less potent offense and they should be able to move the ball against a Titan\u2019s defense that is ranked 25th<\/sup> against the pass. The \u2018Skins may not get the outright win, but take them to cover with the points.<\/p>\n
