Ohio State<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jim Tressel is normally one of the calmest coaches you\u2019ll ever see, but last week he lit a fire under the Ohio State Buckeyes at halftime. Penn State was dominating the Buckeyes, and Tressel let his team know he had seen enough. The Buckeyes scored 35 unanswered points in the second half to win 38-14. The Buckeyes have a huge road test this weekend and they must win to stay in the Big Ten race.<\/p>\n

Ohio State\u2019s offense has been good all year long. The Buckeyes have been much better running the football over the last few games, which has to be encouraging for the coaching staff. The Buckeyes now have the 13th<\/sup> ranked rushing attack in the nation. Boom Herron ran for 190 yards last week against Penn State. Terrelle Pryor is a great running quarterback, which gives the Buckeyes two solid runners on the field at all times. Dane Sanzenbacher and Devier Posey are a solid tandem at the wide receiver position. The Buckeyes have a strong offense this year.<\/p>\n

The Ohio State defense ranks in the top ten in every major category. Besides the one major slip up in Madison earlier this year, the defense has been tremendous. As someone who watches the Buckeyes regularly, this is a key game for their defense. Iowa has a strong offensive line and it will be interesting to see if Ohio State can hold their own on the defensive front in this game. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Iowa<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Iowa Hawkeyes have now lost three games, all by less than a touchdown. It will be interesting to see how the Hawkeyes respond in this game. They certainly are capable of beating the Buckeyes and getting a big win on a national stage.<\/p>\n

Ricky Stanzi has had a great year for the Iowa offense. Stanzi has 22 touchdown passes and just four interceptions on the year. He has thrown for 2,482 yards and has a completion percentage of 66.4%. Iowa has a great tight end and two very good receivers that really help spread the field. Adam Robinson is a solid running back, who can also catch the ball out of the backfield. In order for Iowa to win this game they will need to establish the running game and win the battle on the line of scrimmage.<\/p>\n

The Iowa defense is very good, but they have had a couple bad games this year. The defensive line may be the best in the country, and I expect them to give Ohio State a lot of trouble. Iowa\u2019s cornerbacks have been struggling in man coverage over the last few weeks. The defense must keep a close eye on Terrelle Pryor, because he can break a big run at any time. Look for quite a bit of blitzing to pressure Pryor and force some quick throws.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a difficult game to pick, but I\u2019m going to take the Buckeyes. I think Ohio State has more to play for at this point, and they are probably the more complete team. I expect Pryor to have a big game. If Ohio State stops the run, they should win this one. I like the Buckeyes to cover the spread.<\/p>\n
