Week 9 Studs and Duds<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Week 9 is nearly over and some new Studs emerged this week. There were also some new Duds. If I could put a whole team on the Duds list, the entire Seahawks, Panthers and Cowboys rosters would certainly qualify.<\/p>\n

Enjoy Dave B\u2019s Week 9 version of the Studs and Duds list \u2013\u00a0I hope that you had more Studs than Duds on your roster this week.<\/p>\n

Studs of the Week:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Peyton Hillis \u2013\u00a0Cleveland Browns \u2013 <\/strong> Hillis was an absolute beast on Sunday \u2013 the Patriots had absolutely no answer for him. He rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns and caught three balls for 36 yards on the afternoon against what was a decent Pats run defense.<\/p>\n

Arian Foster \u2013\u00a0Houston Texans \u2013<\/strong> Foster is Mr. Everything for the Texans and has emerged as one of the most potent weapons in Fantasy Football. Foster gained 197 total yards and hit pay dirt two times to be runner up for Stud on the Week.<\/p>\n

Other Studs:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

QBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Brett Favre \u2013\u00a0Minnesota Vikings \u2013 <\/strong> Favre had his second good game in a row! Without nearly getting killed! He ripped apart what has been a very good defense to the tune of 446 yards and two touchdowns (and two interceptions).<\/p>\n

Philip Rivers \u2013\u00a0San Diego Chargers \u2013 <\/strong> No Gates, no Floyd or Nannee and no running game today for the Chargers and still they won on the road. Rivers had 295 yards passing and four touchdowns in Week 9. Enjoy the bye week Mr. Rivers \u2013 you deserve it!<\/p>\n

Eli Manning \u2013\u00a0New York Giants \u2013<\/strong> Manning was in total control in one of the most difficult stadiums in the NFL to play in. He only played three quarters but still managed 290 yards passing and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n

RBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ray Rice \u2013\u00a0Baltimore Ravens \u2013 <\/strong> Rice didn\u2019t find the end zone in Week 9 but he racked up the yards. Rice gained 83 yards on the ground and tallied another 97 yards on seven catches on the day \u2013 Stud!<\/p>\n

Michael Turner \u2013\u00a0Atlanta Falcons \u2013 <\/strong> Mr. Turner has been a Stud for most of the season for Atlanta. In an enormous divisional game, Turner gained 107 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns.<\/p>\n

WRs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Steve Johnson \u2013\u00a0Buffalo Bills \u2013<\/strong> He may be the best Waiver Wire add of the season so far this season. On Sunday, this Stud had 11 catches for 145 yards in another losing effort.<\/p>\n

Hakeem Nicks \u2013\u00a0New York Giants \u2013<\/strong> He is becoming one of the best in the league \u2013 Nicks is officially in the Top Tier of NFL Receivers. He caught six balls for 128 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

Jacob Tamme \u2013\u00a0Indianapolis Colts \u2013<\/strong> Tamme has defied the odds and has filled in for Dallas Clark more than admirably. On Sunday, he caught 10 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown \u2013 Stud!<\/p>\n

Honourable Mention:<\/strong> DeSean Jackson \u2013 Philadelphia Eagles, Nate Burleson \u2013 Detroit Lions<\/p>\n

Duds of the Week:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Calvin Johnson \u2013\u00a0Detroit Lions \u2013 <\/strong> It pains me to call Calvin a Dud but the numbers don\u2019t lie. He had one catch – ONE for 13 yards in a heartbreaking loss to the Jets. <\/strong><\/span>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Thomas Jones \u2013\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/strong> \u2013 The Chiefs had the honour of playing one of the worst run defences of the last five years. He generated only 32 yards<\/p>\n

Other Duds:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

QBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Matt Schaub \u2013\u00a0Houston Texans \u2013 <\/strong> Most drafted him in the second or third round of their fantasy drafts but those people are mighty unhappy! Schaub failed to throw a touchdown on Sunday and although he tossed for a respectable 266 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception is totally unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Carolina QBs \u2013<\/strong> Not that you would have started them on your Fantasy team but it is still worth mentioning the game they has. Three QBs combined for 11\/26 passing, 50 yards and one interception. Unreal!<\/p>\n

RBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

LaGarrette Blount \u2013\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers \u2013 <\/strong> How many of you picked him up and started him this week after a great Week 8? 46 yards on 13 carries will teach you to trust a 1 week wonder!<\/p>\n

Matt Forte \u2013\u00a0Chicago Bears \u2013 <\/strong> Forte was supposed to have a breakout game against the worst defense in the NFL. He only gained 49 yards on 14 carries to remain as one of the Duds of the season. Again!<\/p>\n

Thomas Jones \u2013\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs \u2013<\/strong> 19 carries for 32 yards? Brutal!<\/p>\n

Buffalo RBs \u2013 <\/strong>The Bills continue to embarrass themselves with regards to their rushing offense. Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller combined for 36 yards and a touchdown only in a game that they certainly could have won \u2013 Duds!<\/p>\n

WRs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Steve Smith \u2013\u00a0Carolina Panthers \u2013<\/strong> I know that the quarterbacks gave you absolutely no help Steve but one catch for 9 yards? Horrible effort for a candidate for Dud of the Week<\/p>\n

Wes Welker \u2013\u00a0New England Patriots \u2013<\/strong> Welker has been ICE COLD in the last few games and it continued in Week 9. 4 catches for 36 yards is truly a Dud performance.<\/p>\n

Brandon Marshall \u2013\u00a0Miami Dolphins \u2013<\/strong> Ditto for Marshall! He hasn`t scored in a long time Receivers like Bess and Hartline are consistently out producing Marshall which is a shame. On Sunday, 5 catches for 30 yards lands Marshall on the Dud list.<\/p>\n

Andre Johnson \u2013\u00a0Houston Texans \u2013<\/strong> It`s hard to believe that AJ only got 41 yards off four catches on Sunday. I never thought that I would include Johnson as a Dud!<\/p>\n
