However, Miller fumbled the ball, the Saints recovered, and all the good things the Steelers had done were suddenly rendered irrelevant. Pittsburgh absorbed a 20-10 loss, and now this team has to stay on the road to play another nationally-televised game.<\/p>\n

How Can Pittsburgh Win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Pittsburgh, the key will be to establish the running game, which never really got going against New Orleans. Pittsburgh likes to employ a muscular style of football, and the key about the ground game for the Steelers is that it keeps their elite defense fresh and rested.<\/p>\n

Sure, Roethlisberger likes to gun the ball down the field, but since this team doesn\u2019t have the playmaking ability of Santonio Holmes (now with the New York Jets after a tumultuous offseason), it needs to be able to run the ball between the tackles and shorten games for its defense.<\/p>\n

This is old-fashioned power football, and the Steelers would love to be able to put it into practice against a hated rival that swept Pittsburgh last year in the two-game season series. If Pittsburgh puts its defense in good positions to succeed, the Bengals will be in huge trouble.<\/p>\n

How Can Cincinnati Win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been painful yet undeniable to acknowledge that Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer, bothered by a hip injury, is just not the same player he used to be.<\/p>\n

In a career dogged by injuries, Palmer simply isn\u2019t playing like his former All-Pro self. Palmer\u2019s late-game interception doomed his team to an embarrassing home loss against Tampa Bay, and last week, he hit just 17-of-38 passes in a dreary 22-14 home-field loss against Miami.<\/p>\n

Palmer did throw a touchdown pass to receiver Terrell Owens, but that pass ricocheted off a Miami defender and frankly should have been intercepted. Palmer needs to put together a strong game and banish the notion that he can\u2019t play at an elevated level. Cincinnati must have a top-flight Carson Palmer to get back into the AFC North race; without improvements under center, the Bengals have no chance.<\/p>\n

Outlook<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Pittsburgh defense will have Carson Palmer for dinner in this prime-time matchup. It\u2019s hard to see how Cincinnati can possibly score anything more than 17 points against the Steelers.<\/p>\n

As long as Ben Roethlisberger and his teammates don\u2019t turn the ball over, Pittsburgh should cover the number on the road.<\/p>\n
