Florida<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Gators managed to hang on in overtime against Georgia in the latest installment of The World\u2019s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party thanks to a Chas Henry field goal. The good news, however, was that Florida\u2019s offense looked much more effective in the 34-31 win. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Much of this can be attributed to freshman QB Trey Burton. Burton hasn\u2019t been a threat throwing the pigskin but he presents a new dynamic running it, contributing with 17 carries for 110 yards and two scores last week. It doesn\u2019t have to be predictable (it is an Urban Meyer-coached Florida, after all) and it doesn\u2019t have to be glamorous, but Florida must find ways to consistently score. If that means presenting match-up troubles with Burton, then so be it.<\/p>\n

Further good news is that if the Georgia D couldn\u2019t stop Burton and the Gators\u2019 attack, Vanderbilt probably doesn\u2019t have a snowball\u2019s chance in Hell.<\/p>\n

Vanderbilt<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vandy got roughed up by Arkansas last Saturday, losing by more than 30. More and more, the Commodores look merely like SEC bottom-feeding fodder in 2010. The Nashville outfit haven\u2019t been able to fix the defense and the offense has been downright tepid; Vandy ranks right near the bottom in passing yards (110th<\/sup>), points for (105th<\/sup>) and only 77th<\/sup> overall in rushing.<\/p>\n

Florida has been uncharacteristically mortal this season, but even then the Commodores don\u2019t look like a team that can capitalize on it. Vandy\u2019s only hope, really, is to pray the Florida attack reverts back to mediocrity and it can use some good vibes at home to spook the green Florida QBs and force mistakes.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>Florida has been ripe for the picking this season, but not by a conference bottom dweller. Florida grabs this road game and continues its quest for divisional (SEC East) respectability.<\/p>\n
